We have a decided lack of Islamic members, so I for one, am happy to see you here. I do have a couple pieces of advice for you, though... if you aren't averse to such things. First... you said (and implied) that your original post was not meant to incite a big argument, only to introduce yourself and explain your belief system. That's fine. Everyone does that. The difference is that yours is very long and detailed (while leaving out important details, I might add) and, in a nest of heathens, is going to cause rebuttals and even mocking sarcasm. The first piece of advice would be to pay less attention to this thread and begin contributing to other conversations around the forums. Give us the Muslim perspective on the things discussed by the community as a whole. Our discussions lack that at present and it is something you have to offer.

My second piece of advice is too thicken your skin. This is an atheist community that welcome theists into its midst, because we know that a difference in belief systems doesn't mean we can't be friends... and having differing perspectives can lead to productive discourse. But we also know that each side finds the other side's beliefs to be laughable... and so we laugh. We mock, we poke fun, we argue... we get frustrated... but we try to leave anger out of the interactions. If someone disagrees with what you say and considers it worthy of mockery... they are going to mock it. The best thing to do is smile and say, "Good one." before moving on with the discussion.

Stick around if you can take the heat. You might enjoy yourself.

but i really wasnt looking for that kind of argument i was just searching for someone to prove me wrong and to hear other opinions.i will open another thread soon about the misconceptions people have about Islam not for the purpose of convincing or defending but in the purpose of showing the true facts as it is so a free thinkers like u guys (as some of u call themself) can b sure that his beliefs whatever it is is based in true facts not lies and misconceptions
