RE: why i believe in Islam?
ok am still ignoring any reply that shows that someone is attacking and defending his position without thinking the only thing that will make me stay in this forums is that i felt that there is a lot of nice people(not all) who can argue as an adult and talk with evidence and those r the ppl am interested to hear their opinion and to know about their beliefs

RE: why i believe in Islam?
Hi, mo3.

We have a decided lack of Islamic members, so I for one, am happy to see you here. I do have a couple pieces of advice for you, though... if you aren't averse to such things. First... you said (and implied) that your original post was not meant to incite a big argument, only to introduce yourself and explain your belief system. That's fine. Everyone does that. The difference is that yours is very long and detailed (while leaving out important details, I might add) and, in a nest of heathens, is going to cause rebuttals and even mocking sarcasm. The first piece of advice would be to pay less attention to this thread and begin contributing to other conversations around the forums. Give us the Muslim perspective on the things discussed by the community as a whole. Our discussions lack that at present and it is something you have to offer.

My second piece of advice is to thicken your skin. This is an atheist community that welcome theists into its midst, because we know that a difference in belief systems doesn't mean we can't be friends... and having differing perspectives can lead to productive discourse. But we also know that each side finds the other side's beliefs to be laughable... and so we laugh. We mock, we poke fun, we argue... we get frustrated... but we try to leave anger out of the interactions. If someone disagrees with what you say and considers it worthy of mockery... they are going to mock it. The best thing to do is smile and say, "Good one." before moving on with the discussion.

Stick around if you can take the heat. You might enjoy yourself.

Well you see there lies your problem. What you've shown are assertions, and some links to Adnan Oktar himself which you really should know better then to pass that off as evidence on a non Muslim forum. You want to discuss evidence, go right ahead and provide some, not some vague assertions of the Muslim equivalent of Ray Comfort. I know of several Muslims who don't even think his arguments are compelling.

I will do you the courtesy of not linking to debunking sites of your claim, because I have no doubt you've seen these before on other forums you've posted.

As for my beliefs, I believe I will get another chocolate milk and keep working on my website.
Best regards,

Hey, mo3. There are drawn pictures of Mohammed posted in these forums. Is it still okay for you to be here? I wouldn't want you to burn in hell by association or anything.

A typical reply from a true believer in anything (you are not "special.) This is an atheism board. If you want 'respect' for your particular fairy tale, go to a mosque. I'm sure they will pat you on the back and reinforce all of your beliefs.

You are here to preach. You are incapable of learning.

RE: why i believe in Islam?
I think the vast majority of us show at least some polite restraint when it comes to the religious. However it seems apparent to me at least that you knew beforehand that someone would be an ass in regards to Islam especially. As Paul said, thicken your skin a bit and roll with it and i'm sure you'll come to enjoy posting if you decide to stay. The great difference between us nonbelievers and believers is that we tend to get along regardless because the subtle differences in what we believe, or do not for that matter, really don't amount to very much. We believe in people, which is what the vast majority of theists do not believe in. So I'm okay with having an adult conversation with you or anyone for that matter, in spite of my complete disdain for what theists believe. My best friend in the world is a pentecostal preacher, while he's served as practice for my debates over the years, we have a friendship that exists beyond ideological, existential, or even political beliefs. We aren't all sharks, however if you attempt to preach to any of us, you should be prepared to be dismantled. One thing atheists such as myself takes a considerable amount of pride in is our knowledge of religions, far beyond what the average believer tends to immerse themselves in. Most people don't want to know anything more than what is taught at a church service. However if they would actually take the time to read the history of what they believe, they would most definately lose faith.

Keep your chin up, post in the other subforums, let everyone get to know you, it will be worth your while. Smile

You want someone to prove you wrong? You have it backwards. It can be just about impossible to prove that someone's beliefs are wrong. For example, I believe there is an invisible troll living in my attic. Prove me wrong.

No, it is up to you to prove that your beliefs are correct. For starters, try proving to us that Allah exists. Because if your deity is a fraud (and I would bet everything I own that he is) then your entire holy book and religion mean nothing.

But he read it in an old book so it must be true and then some ayatollah told him it was true while also telling other believers to wrap themselves in fucking dynamite for the good of ole allah.

It's always the same shit with the religious no matter what kind of hat they wear.
