Unfortunately I don't know what it would take to do that. Even with non firearm issues it is hard to make or remove an Amendment. So unless the right or wrong person or people get hurt by firearm violence, that is a tall order. You'd think Newtown alone would have done it. Parkland has lit somewhat of a fire to motive more sane people, but right now, I don't see that happening right now. I think what will change thing in the long term is keeping our voices up, and refusing to accept the fear mongering narrative sold by the industry.
In fact, if I am remembering correctly, a lawsuit against a maker has been allowed to go through regarding it's marketing. Just like big tobacco was successfully sued for its marketing. I think if that lawsuit is successful, that could open the door more.
But one thing we can do is stop calling it "gun control". The industry and NRA love that because they can sell that as what dictators do. I say, "gun safety", and I don't think responsible gun owners are against safety.
I would say, maybe if not all, but a few of the founders, it could be argued, if they were alive today, might say, "Look guys, that isn't what we meant. And regardless laws do have to change with changing technology." What is the point of using the words "well regulated" if all we want is a free for all, which is pretty much what we have now. Our conflicting laws from state to state make it damned near impossible to reduce firearm violence.
