Oh yeah. We do the same thing every time we want war. Embargo. See basically what some embargos and sanctions do is actually stop the supply of life needed supplies to the PEOPLE of the countries. Not to their governments, so we are suppressing innocent people with this shit, and in turn their government must react. Exactly what happened with Japan, anyone think they attacked Pearl Harbor cause they were bored? lol. I also find it funny that we have sandwiched Iran by occupying Afghanistan and Iraq. We have tried to take Iran down before, by propping up Saddam to fight the Iranians in the Iraq-Iran war. So this is all old news, coming back into light, same with Gaddafi, someone decided to put the machine in overdrive. I do wonder why? Why now? Aramco wants Iran's wells, it's pretty simple, same with Libyas. And when Geroge Bush makes out with a Saudi King, you know they are in it together. But don't talk about Saudi human right issues...

Of course you can't have perfect planning when you have a large portion of a population against your occupation. Imagine if China occupied New York or something, you could call me a insurgent, terrorist or whatever, I would be attacking those invaders for sure. So when you take/occupy something with force you will have opposition and of course it will be a cluster-fuck, if the Iraqi people really wanted to be "free" they wouldn't have fought back for years. Any time you try to do something against a person or peoples will, you will have an opposition and it will be a cluster of fuck.

I do see planning in the new middle east stuff. "Helped" Libya... not Bahrain, we have Naval ships in Bahrain(cause they let us), Saudi sent in troops to help their government get the protestors. Bahrain was a real uprising, and was shot down in no time.
