I would agree that the wording isn't perfect but I couldn't say that it wasn't a sacrifice.

Christians: A Question
|
So, it was a sacrifice and it wasn't should be combined? Sheesh, there is no consistency. Frodo didn't seem to think so and he is Christian. No true Christian?
The Bible often equates god to being our father or The Father. So basically Jesus' death on the cross would be a father condemning his own son to die horribly for a bunch of people who's only crime was being born with a condition that the father himself gave everyone in the first place.
What a piece-of-shit dad. RE: Christians: A Question

I like that chuck. I think I'm going to coin a phrase based off of your post. For future quoting or some reason or another ...
"If you're not a good Christian, you may actually have a shot at being a good christian." ~ Cinjin
I think it does too. This is why Christianity is so confusing to atheists. I understand what the words say in the Bible. I do not understand how people can take them so differently.

Haha, that is a great quote. However, I really doubt anyone should try it. Luckily, most people cherry pick out the particularly gruesome stuff.
I was not saying that it was and was not a sacrifice, what I meant Jesus willingly gave himself as a sacrifice for the salvation of man. This was not something Christ had to do it was something he accepted (being a sacrifice) to save the people he created. Hope this clears things up.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
