Christians: A Question

AHHHH!!! Rightey-oh! Do forgive me!

I was just under the impression that, as a Christian, you believed in talking snakes, arks containing an impossible amount of creatures, dividing seas, water turning to wine, the curing of lepers and ofcourse not to mention the resurrection of jesus christ the saviour of all mankind!

Science doesn't have anything to say about all that does it? Oh no, wait a minute, here it is, hmmm, well I'll be. Science does have something to say on those very topics. Looks like snakes can't talk. Oh, and the ark couldn't fit all those creatures on and sustain them all. The sea can't be parted either, not with thin air anyway. Turning water to wine, now that's a pretty cheap magic trick. Curing lepers by touching them on the head? Simply not possible. Oh and my favourite, zombie jebus!! Nope, not that either. Not looking too good for you is it? What was it you said? You 'fully believe in science'? Well that seems a tad contradictory wouldn't you agree?

Or maybe you're one of those cherry picking xtians who doesn't take the bible 'literally' and thinks it's just a nice bunch of stories telling us to lead a wonderful life.

Don't play the fucking martyr, we get whackos like you here every day preaching your crap. We are entitled to rip you all a new one every now and again.

Consider a new one ripped.

i get it minimalist. But it really doesn't matter what you think. Ever. About anything. So ultimately you still aren't making any point. You believe it's all garbage. You think I'm an idiot. You're entitled to your opinion.

I think you're wrong. I believe there is hope for you yet. pretty simple. You're words are baseless. Your disbelief is not founded in anything. I don't even believe you when you say you don't believe in God so vehemently. To me you sound delusional.

Napolean: if you read my initial post a page or two back I try to explain why beliefs in the bible's veracity do not matter. I believe in talking snakes to the extend I can envision them in my mind. They are real. Whether or not they have ever existed as physical realities is besides the point. I trust that everything I can envision through conscious thought is a possibility of physical reality. I believe consciousness is real. Therefore things produced by consciousness exist. I'm sure you don't get it and think I'm a loon. I'm fine with that.

Atheism is not supported by science... Science offers no opinions on God. Any belief that there is no God is faith based, and it's a faith in a pretty bleak reality at that.

Atheism is a belief in no god now? How come I didn't get the email?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

RE: Christians: A Question
Stimbo have you heard of the idea of God? If so you were forced to formed beliefs about God simply by the fact that the idea was introduced to you. Either you believe God exists, believe God does not exist, or aren't familiar with the idea of God to believe whether or not God exists. In the case of the latter you still are forced to believe that God possibly exists. One is theism, one is atheism, and one is agnosticism. It seems you missed the memo.

As you have stated acke...god or no god is just an opinion. .....

Or did I read one of your posts in another thread wrongly??

I dunno kichi. Whether or not you believe in god is an opinion. God either exists or doesn't regardless of anyone's opinion.
