Good catch. Yep, I'm guessing that even if something similar to this happened, this version has a good helping of fiction and deceit mixed in. Also, I read the entire thing. Do I get a cookie? What falls away is always, and is near.
Also, I am not pretending to be female, this profile picture is my wonderful girlfriend. XD

All you Bigfoot doubters don't know what you're talking about. I know Bigfoot exists - I saw him on T.V., so it must be true.
There is far more evidence for Bigfoot than God. We at least know what Bigfoot is supposed to look like.

See the documentary I linked in my earlier post. There's a bunch more like it on youtube. You can't deny evidence of that caliber - and if you do, you must REALLY hate Bigfoot. That Jack Links guy - man, he's a relentless Bigfoot researcher. Great sense of humor too, but everyone knows Bigfoot hates practical jokes. No but Barf....I mean Garth Brooks can: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qJfLBFjHCs (sorry I couldn't find the official video). I think I might just get killed for that one. I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise
That just goes with my assertion that (assuming God exists) prayer is totally useless. If you pray for something and it's not God's will, then it will never happen, so praying for it is a waste of time. If something is God's will, then it's going to happen anyway whether you pray for it or not.
But those of us with functional brains can see that answered prayers vs. unanswered prayers run pretty much the same as chance.

Quote:I don't know why theists can't see how this doesn't make sense. Ever heard of of 'doublethink'? It seems to me that it is virtually impossible to have an IQ above room temperature AND be a dogmatic believer without an expert capacity for doublethink. Quote:Doublethink, a word coined by George Orwell in the novel 1984, describes the act of simultaneously accepting two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct, often in distinct social contexts.[1] It is related to, but distinct from, hypocrisy and neutrality. Its opposite is cognitive dissonance, where the two beliefs cause conflict in one's mind. Doublethink is an integral concept of George Orwell's dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. The word doublethink is part of Newspeak. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doublethink |
