Well, some of my larger (and longer lasting) obsessions: literature, film, and music.
A side effect of my being on the Autism spectrum is the tendency to have very intense, but very fleeting, interest in some random thing, and at the moment, it's Bret Easton Ellis.

For the messy desktops, a program called Nexus is a great solution. It is like the Mac OS dock for windows. It gives you shortcuts at your fingertips and makes everything look all neat and clean. You also have the option of downloading custom HD icons for popular programs like firefox, chrome, photoshop, etc, ect... Its pretty sweet. Then just disable desktop icons.

I don't need that, I just delete any unnecessary icons. Any that are necessary I just put into program folders.
