But, yes, there those that can recite the Qur'An by root from cover to cover. Just like Jehovahs can recite the bible. But that doesn't mean those Muslims have understood the Qur'An (if anyone can) or its implications! Just like Jehovahs haven't of the bible. I read about 50% of the bible, about 20-30% of the Qur'An, roughly 40-50% of Greek mythology, 20% of Norse mythology, and snippets of the Torah, Talmud, and Vedas. It's all basically exactly the same mystic garbage with different cultural overlays. Sometimes it's one god, with multiple personae (e.g. Xtianity and Hinduism), sometimes it's a whole panthéon of gods. Same difference, though. RE: While Looking For Something Else

I like the criticism that Mark Twain wrote about the Book of Mormon. Long, boring, parts directly lifted from the bible, and lots of instances of "and so it came to pass" thrown in to make it sound old an authoritative like the bible. I think the phrase "it came to pass" is the most-used phrase in the BOM.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
Mormon is a special kind of stupid.
They follow a psychotic con artist who was righteously killed by an angry mob.
I've read bits and pieces of most of the major religious texts, but after reading the Bible cover to cover several times over I just couldn't bare to do it again with the other religions. The only exception being that I do want to finish the Koran one of these days, mainly for political reasons.

Why would a quote dispairaging the Bible from and anti-theist satirist piss us off? Isn't that the standard position around here anyways?
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I am thinking you need to go re-read the OP again Tacky....
You are not making any sense. O_0 "The Universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest." G'Kar-B5
I did KN, Min was looking to get a rise out o the theists by quoting a satirist that frequently spoke out against Christian fundamentalism and was disparaging the Bible. I was just commenting that it was just a little more of the usual for around here and I don't even see the fundies "up in arms" about it.
