Cool response. I'm pretty sure you're completely wrong as well, but far be it for me to provide the reasons why.
I never agree to disagree... either I simply accept you and your squirks, or I do not and must find reason to do so.
It never goes anywhere to talk to people on the internet... so if "because it won't go anywhere" is your reasoning for ending a conversation: why are you here?

Quite, since it is you who thought it. I don't put much stock in the words or thoughts of madmen.
Not everyone's a Kenyan, you know... hell, I have trouble keeping up with my dog when she takes off chasing a rabbit.

If my kid wrote a story like the Bible, I would send him to a publisher. That shit would make him rich.
How exactly does one enable a mentally retarded person? I'm pretty sure you can't disable them, given that they are already pretty screwed by genetics. Hmm.

My father is a Rastafarian and a vegetarian, so essentially, the message he gave to me was that I would have to make a choice between eating meat and God, so God had to go!
"Sisters, you know only the north; I have traveled in the south lands. There are churches there, believe me, that cut their children too, as the people of Bolvangar did--not in the same way, but just as horribly. They cut their sexual organs, yes, both boys and girls; they cut them with knives so that they shan't feel. That is what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling. So if a war comes, and the Church is on one side of it, we must be on the other, no matter what strange allies we find ourselves bound to."

I didn't make it on my own. I first watched some Thunderf00t videos which did make me doubt; and the I got Dawkins' book, then Hitchens' and now I'm where I am. I never was that religious; I just prayed occasionally when I was desperate in my childhood. Now I know how ridiculous it all was. Prayer did nothing anyway

You mean the stupidity of creationism made you feel like admitting you don't know everything wasn't enough? Their insistence on certainty is part of what makes your garden variety theist go so horribly wrong. It can do the same for atheists. Over reach and you become just one more defensive blowhard.

Pretty much. Their "Evidence" for god was so insane that it actualy made me think "now you said it like that I dissagree" then after that i really thought about it became an atheist.
I agree with you about the same with atheists. I know ive gotten passionate and agressive when I shouldnt have and i imagine it has the same effect.

I always answer with the same four-word answer whenever anyone asks me this question:
I read the Bible.
How it didn't change everyone else who read it I will never know.
For me, The biggest Biblical contradiction is this:
''Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me''
Exodus 20:4-5
I am a jealous god? Isn't that one of the seven deadly sins? Oh dear me. And even worse... He's not going to punish the person who dislikes him... but his Children, and his children's children? Without trail? Oh, so much mercy God... How merciful you really are.
