Anybody else collect books by chance?
A counter-intuitive bit of fun for those who don't- It's often the lowest quality that is the rarest/most valuable. Books with poor binding, or no covers etc don't last very well, over time the sturdier books become comparatively common. There's also the special kind of collector who looks for pulps, or at least books of such low quality that they were clearly made for the common man (common being used loosely, literacy being very uncommon the farther back you go, of course).

That's kind of how I'm approaching it too Mehm, at least they didn't choke themselves on wads of paper or something, or if they scaled the shelf...at least they didn't fall and bust their heads. Wouldn't have been able to forgive myself.

LOL, Summer, Mehm doesn't respect human life, why would he respect human literary achievement? I've decided to just accept him as he is for the most part...lol, maybe I'm getting soft. Maybe if a Turk wrote it he'd be willing to help me form a firing squad.

Really, there is a saying in Turkish, "cana geleceğine, mala gelsin".
However not everyone sees things that way.

Well, your own children didn't care, as far as I'm concerned.
And well, a quick google search would have sufficed for you to find a pdf format of the book. And you talk of it like it was a valuable ancient manuscript from the library of Alexandria with only a single copy that was owned by you.

It was valuable, and it was the only copy I owned. My kids don't care because they're toddlers. Don't harsh my mellow man, I'm handling this better than I thought I would..lol, so far.

WHAT? You really don't understand what books can mean to a book lover do you,or how precious a book given by/having belonged to a loved one can be. Philistine.
