If one religion was correct...

RE: If one religion was correct...
Woah what's a Fuddian?! Most theists get it pretty bad already and get laughed at for silly arguments. But this already sounds silly!

I'd like it if one of the pagan religions was true.

The pagan religions of Europe painted a much brighter picture than the Anrahamic religions and their gods were far more benevolent than the sadistic god of the Bible and Quran.

Norse Paganism might just be the coolest. It would be good just going to a magic castle to drink and party with hot chicks all day.

Islam pretty much fits the definition of worst ever religion, and the one I think it would be worst if it was true.

Only Christianity has a worse record for the actions of his believers, but even at least the NT has some positive morals suggested by it which are completely lacking in the Quran.

And the Bible never takes pleasure in the idea of torturing the non believers in hell like the Quran does with graphic descriptions of how people are going to be tortured there.

Silly? How fucking dare you!

I have put a 'nasty man' notice on you. That means any Fuddian can shoot you on sight. That you are here suggests you are probably too old to eat.

Can you say S-A-T-I-R-E?

Really?

In that case I will send our master-at-arms,Guido,around to see. You can't miss him; 197cm tall, 175 kg, one eyebrow, no neck, drags knuckles as he walks. Guido will be accompanied by Maurice his attack ferret and will be carrying a large pineapple and a mallet. (the term" the rough end of the pineapple" will acquire a new and graphic meaning for you) Angel Cloud

Well, Xavier, you're missing the bit about doing fierce mock battles with OPFOR every day, most likely being hacked to bits by some big bastard named Olaf, all in preparation for an apocalyptic war against a race of giants....but the plus side is that you always wake up alive and there is alcohol to be had.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, I personally don't think that Islam is as bad as everyone says it is.
When I was instructed on the basics of Islam by my grandmother, I found it to be very peaceful, at least the way we learned it from our forefathers.
The matter on if I believe it or not is an entirely other, but I found nothing disturbing in the way we practice Islam in Turkey.
I personally enjoy our religious holidays, and various customs associated with it. Not to mention that I've always found the halls of a mosque very peaceful, and the sound of call to prayers, quite hypnotic when sung by an experienced muezzin.
Obviously, you can't really understand what I'm saying, as you probably have a shallow approach to religion, not just Islam.

Would have to go a LONG way before matching the pig ignorant, superstitious, bigoted, and sheer hatefulness of Irish Catholicism.

I also suspect the Babylonians, with their habit of chucking infants alive into a furnace were pretty gross.-----and then of course there were the meso-Americans who liked to cut out people's hearts and offer them, still beating,as a sacrifice to their gods.(often THOUSANDS at a time) Thinking

I remain convinced that the excesses of religion reflect the arseholes who practice them rather than the often contradicting doctrines.
