Dilemma for theists!

RE: Dilemma for theists!
No Kichi, GC did not advocate banning his religion, phil did. And that is why GC called Phil a socialst.

@Darwinian

I am not following you on this one. Why would the sacrifice of one sinner do anyrhing to ensure the salvation of 1000 other sinners??

It's a hypothetical, I thought you loved those? Here's another hypothetical, how does the sacrifice of one "sinless" person do anything to ensure the salvation of 1000 "sinners"?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Isn't doing good the objective to save our soul. It would be paradoxical to lose our soul for the very good we are attempting.
How about i spend my whole life dedicated to saving atheists, and we all get in to heaven, that idea doesn't work does it, i wonder why.

No, the purpose of doing good is to minimize harm and further humanity. The fact that you only do it to save your soul is quite telling though.

What would you do if the soul was proven not to exist?

A sinless person is a dirty towel? I'm not sure that Jesus agrees. I'm also entirely certain that you didn't address my question at all, so why pretend you're responding to it?

It seems we do good for all sorts of reasons. I doubt every reason of yours and mine is purposefully and methodically meant toward the betterment of humanity. Deeper sense of morality from a christian standpoint must be recognized. The morality that Jesus expressed and life he told to lead is quite different than the occasional don't break the laws or recycle routine. Our motivation and understanding doesn't change the action of good, it only does if you care about what others think about you. I think its the same for immoral acts be it they are just all reactions and effects of certain causes, the actions still exist and a creator, lawgiver, not only is able to judge but is required to do so.

And if the soul was proven not to exist, would i not still just be like you? Flawed, knowing of good and bad and weighing them daily against the probable consequences. Other than that just acting instinctively on emotion and the reaction of my created character due to the circumstance of my childhood. Basically i would be the same as now, a little less motivated and probably a little bit more selfish but truthfully right now I'm not too far from being those things anyways.
You're right, my apologies.

You numb nut!! You are advocating that your own religion be banned?? Is not caring for the poor and disenfranchised of concern to you or are you one of these tin pot "pretend christians" that mouth the words but are of no substance?? The poor are fine as long as YOU don't have to do anything about it?? Is this what YOUR religion is all about??

I thought better of you .... but obviously you are a very BAD example of the religion you strive so hard to promote... Sad

You have no idea what I do to help others and as far as I'm concerned it's none of your business. Christianity is not socialistic, when we help others we ask for nothing in return, as a matter of fact we show up at disasters before most ask for help. I care very much about those who are not as fortunate as others. I'm not sure why you think I'm a bad example of christianity, I did not say anything about banning socialism or anything else. People have the right to live under whatever society they desire.

You REALLY don't have fucking clue,do you.

The soviet union ended was dissolved in december 1991. It had been a totalitarian dictatorship since 1917. Today Russia is run economically as laissez faire capitalism, but controlled by former-KGB thugs. (such as Putin)

China is not now and has never been a socialist state. Politically it remains a totalitarian dictatorship with SOME socialist aspects. However, today it lacks THE major criterium for a socialist state: Collective ownership of the means of production.

Quote:Socialism /ˈsoʊʃəlɪzəm/ is an economic system characterised by social ownership and control of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy,[1] and a political philosophy advocating such a system. "Social ownership" may refer to any one of, or a combination of, the following: cooperative enterprises, common ownership, direct public ownership or autonomous state enterprises.[2] There are many variations of socialism and as such there is no single definition encapsulating all of socialism.[3] They differ in the type of social ownership they advocate, the degree to which they rely on markets versus planning, how management is to be organised within economic enterprises, and the role of the state in constructing socialism.[4]

Quote:go live there and see what you think.

What a sublimely stupid thing to say:

Australia has free speech, the US has the first amendment. That means we are free to criticise our own country and any other. You don't like that? What can I say except go fuck yourself you fascist prick.

Thanks for the definition, now how does that rule out China and Russia, they both have put up fronts to disguise their intentions, all they want to do is make claims about themselves that most of the world want buy. Of coarse Chavez and those like him are fooled, but hey their making their own bed and some day will have to lay in it.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Excuse me, sir. I think you dropped this book in the road a ways back. Is it yours?

It's uncanny...
