Good question Tib. .Perhaps fairly simple thud and blunder action stuff to start,then to stuff which involves using my imagination and problem solving.

The aim is to have fun and to use my mind in the hope of keeping it longer.

TV shows I really like: Spooks,The Mentalist, Bones,NCIS, Game of Thrones and--Spartacus.. I do not play chess.

Basic FPS would be Halo for the PC. No need for aiming down the sights or mastering different concepts. Just a nice shoot em' up game with a great plot, and it should run on your computer.

An older game is The Killing Floor. It's team-based mutant survival. I have more than 200 hours sunk into it. It's mindless fun, plus there's a big modding community. Load times can get very length on modded maps, though.

For an RPG, I recommend Dragon Age: Origins. That game can run on near any pc, and it's amazing. There's a lot of character interaction, and the choices you make actually affect the story. Plus, there's the Chantry (similar to Christianity) to laugh at and insult, if you feel like it.

I don't know for most of the games that have been suggested here, but for Halo and Dragon Age you will need Microsoft Direct X which you can get at Microsofts website here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35

(Note: Many other games also use Direct X so you might want to get it just in case.)

Minecraft is a pc killer, actually. I run Skyrim on ultra at a higher framerate than Minecraft. It doesn't make any sense, but Fraps doesn't lie.
