Existence as in, our objective reality, is void of subjective purpose and meaning.

Ultimately you need to give yourself a purpose, mission or goal in life. Nothing else can give you that reason to live.

I believe in God, but what would be the meaning and reason for us being here, why are we here?

Answer: I don't know, but I mostly just try to do things that make me happy

What would be the purpose if there is no meaning, outcome, no afterlife?

Answer: I don't know, but I like what I am experiencing now, for the most part, so I leave the unanswerable questions as unanswerable.

Maybe they'll be answered in the fullness of time?

wow, that seems a bit vain and shallow and I say that kindly. However I dont know its really unacceptable dont you think so..? Its not very valid when science tells us they dont understand or know.

It kinda debunks and refutes that big bang in the sky that come from NO where.

Clueless.

I wish these people would just admit it when they do not understand how the Big Bang or Natural Selection work. I wish they would just admit that the ideas of the Big Bang and Evolution frighten them, because they do not need a god to exist in order to be true.

Better question...Why do you assume that we have a purpose in the first place?

So...you have no answer?

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Sarah,

What would your answers be to the following questions?

I believe in God, but what would be the meaning and reason for us being here, why are we here?

What would be the purpose if there is no meaning, outcome, no afterlife?

We'll start there and then we can talk about our answers together. Hopefully we can dialog around the people who would rather be nasty. Smile

Sorry to backtrack, but:

Pascal's Wager? Seriously? If you don't get why this is the single most pathetic argument for belief in a god, try this little experiment. Replace the word "God" in the above quote with "Allah", or "Zeus", or "Ahura Mazda" (here's a little list to choose from if you wish). Next, replace the word "atheist" with "xtian". Now read it back to yourself and see if it convinces you.

If that doesn't work, consider how many gods, goddesses, deities and demigods from the above list you would have to believe in - and we're talking genuine belief, not merely the pretence of belief which a god would see through in a heartbeat - simply in order to make sure you are backing the 'correct' one. That way madness lies.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Your pontification and concern for other peoples business shows your socialist mindset.

And you are a political asswipe too. Figures. The two seem to go hand in hand these days.
