Perhaps most may say something like 'Lord, Lord, didn't we do this, didn't we do that' and what did he say in reply ?

I do not know you. Just as we do not know you.

Just a few hundred times,with each of hundreds of sects claiming a monopoly on 'truth'. (whatever that is)

How about starting by defining what you mean by 'God' followed by some actual proof of his existence? Tiger

I'm glad you did not include me in that statement, God and only God has that monopoly, truth that is.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

None are.

Because paul tells us in Romans 3
10 As it is written:

“There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”[b]
13 “Their throat is an open tomb;
With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; [c]
“The poison of asps is under their lips”; [d]
14 “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”[e]
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways;
17 And the way of peace they have not known.”[f]
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”[g]

Thankfully he goes on to say that keeping the will of God is not the way to the righteouness we need to enter the kingdom.

I was referring to the common Christian practice, [which most certainly DOES include you) of claiming that THEIR sect or personal view is the only 'real/true form of Christianity. That is a claim of a monopoly on truth.

The basis of any religious faith is belief. A minority of Christians believe that salvation comes through faith alone. The majority believe [as declared doctrine] that " faith without works is dead"

Yet you have the hubris to judge Coverdone because he does not meet your personal expectations,judging him by what he says on some internet forum. That seems foolish and un-Christian to me.

Quote:James 2:14-26 (New King James Version)

Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your[a] works, and I will show you my faith by my[b] works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?[c] 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[d] And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

I have said that I do not believe I or anyone else has a monopoly on christian truth. Please tell me when I judged him and quote what I said, you're being ridiculous. Those verses do not in any way state that salvation comes through work and faith, however these tell us that grace through faith is how we are saved.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9) not as a result of works, so that know one may boast.
Then verse 10 explains what works are, 10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
We could not be created in Christ Jesus until we are saved, simple really.

You demanded the guy answer your question in the way you wanted,if he would not,you declared "you are not a Christian". THAT is a judgment Dunderklumpen.

Your view is in the minority in Christendom,but that is your right.

I never demanded he say anything, all I wanted is to know was which side of the fence he was on, that's the only way to have a reasonable discussion. Like I told you I did not care where he stood, I do not understand why you would think I even thought he was a christian, I responded to him as an atheist with my first post to him. I do not know what your problem is with me, you've read my post wrong and then accuse me of all sorts of things that are not so.

Did not think you would have a reasonable answer to the second part, the standard junk from nonbelievers, when they are faced with the truth from scripture. All you care about is to annoy believers, you do that well, do not take that as a complement, it's not, actually it's sad. I do not believe I'm in the minority among christians on this forum or the world. The truth in scripture has been shown you, faith brings salvation and salvation brings works, first you are saved then you begin working for God, simple really.
