Pathetic pleas to god from friends and family.

RE: Pathetic pleas to god from friends and family.
I'm in a similar situation. A whole bunch of old "church friends" and "righteous relatives" are my facebook friends. It gets fucking annoying. I make it a point to post something Antitheistic every couple days or so.

And sometimes things get better before they get even worse. I which case, the answer is "I'm just screwing with ya."

You....have no...idea...how much I......want to....copy and paste that answer! Ugh!! Must, resist...the urge!

Or, and stick with me here, the answer is always no(read: no one is listening), but every once in a while a random circumstance makes it seem as if your prayer was answered.

Yeah, I want to copy and paste that also.

Seriously though my friends problem is between her and a god she thinks exists and is supposed to care for her but is somehow apathetic. I think I need to keep my mouth shut. If I find something kind but secular to say, believe me I will. It sucks when life sucks. Granted it's worse when you think there's a god who doesn't care about you, but it still sucks when life sucks.

Seriously, there's actually no need to go into religion. If you feel like you want to help, then I'd say offer a practical solution. Let her pray if that's also what she has to do. At least you have done your part anyways.

I'd do that if she actually posted the problem. Like soo many people on Facebook they post crap but don't give much explanation.

Your fear often manifests itself in excessive planning. Your mind is so accustomed to this pattern of thinking that you are only now becoming aware of how pervasive it is & how much it hinders your intimacy with Me. Repent of this tendency & resist it, whenever you realize you are wandering down this path. Return to My Presence, which always awaits you in the present moment. I accept you back-no condemnation.

I get shit like this.

Holy shit is this some sort of customized prophecy for you or something like that? That's some real bullshit there. I remember believing stuff like that. It led to so many bad decisions. Planning and strategy are ways to get you out of shit. Though stress relief and self reflection is also important when you're trying to get yourself out of shit I can think of much better ways to do it.

Dear god, my beautiful little girl has cystic fibrosis and she is slowly being suffocated to death as she has a particularly severe case. She is only five years old and every day a little piece of me dies inside as I watch her little body waste away. Dear god, I beg you! I've always believed in your awesome power and I know that you can save her and in doing so save our family. I know I have the faith of mustard seed ... so I ask you lord, please save my little girls life.

WHAT!??! the answer is NO?!?! What the Fuu..... !?!!

............ yeah .... fuck your god (and your stupid cliche explanations)

I suppose god just told my wife no when she spent about a year praying for our daughters nerves to miraculously regrow? Yeah, sorry, sounds like a massive douche to me.

(fun fact, delivered by a baptist doctor, in a baptist hospital, directly underneath a cross. Malpractice. God has a serious issue with his representatives Chad, and you've added yourself to that list.)
