It's a good thing you are fluent in the original text, so that you can make that determination.

I can't read the bible. It burns my eyes.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Many scholars agree that it's the most accurate, I defer to their knowledge.

When it comes to arguing from the biblical text (or studying or teaching) I most frequently use the New English Translation (NET) from Biblical Studies Press, which comes with over 63,000 translators notes. It is one of the most widely respected Bible translations; according to Wayne Grudem, in producing the English Standard Version (ESV) they drew extensively from the translators notes of the NET.
When it comes to simply reading the Bible for enjoyment sake, I use the New Living Translation (NLT), which is highly readable yet retains decent accuracy.
The NET is available in its entirety as a free download or online web use at http://www.netbible.org.

Robert M Price recommends both the Revised Standard Version (RSV) from before around 1970 and the New American Standard Bible (NASB). Other Non-Evangelical biblical scholars such as Bart D Ehrman for example quote from the New Revised Standard Version.
Robert Price recommended the NASB because fundamentalists translated it and were not likely to distort certain verses to make them more politically correct.
Before I got a copy of the English Standard Version (becoming more popular as of late among Evangelicals). I read from the New International Version (NIV), because that is the translation Evangelicals read the most. Although I do have a eBook copy of the NASB.
Overall the NIV is a fairly good translation from what I have heard, although I agree with Robert Price that it does "cheat" in certain verses. Such as Jesus saying the "largest of all your seeds", instead of the "largest of all seeds".

I like the online NET for the study tools. Very nice.

The question I have is for both Christians and Atheists who quote or argue with text from the bible, and it is simply this:
Which bible do you use?
It depends on what and or who it is being used for.

LOLCat Bible for me too. Now there's a book that really speaks to me. However, whenever I need to refer to that cheap xtian knock-off, I go to the Skeptic's Annotated Bible. No idea what translation it uses or anything, it's just so convenient having all the absurdities, injustices, cruelty, occasional good stuff etc all collected into categories. Plus you get the Book of Mormon and the Kerrang as well.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
