That's all well and good, but one does not simply walk into Mordor. Wouldn't you agree?

The Son^3

By the way, the deity to which you were referring is Sol Invictus, emissary. Were it as you have posted it, it would mean the "vanquished sun."

That emissary makes such fatuous claims with without reference to credible scholars shows he doesn't have a clue, and may be dismissed out of hand. Who has been watching Zeitgeist? Horus was not born of a virgin, but of Isis who had sex with Osiris' dead body. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horus , http://stupidevilbastard.com/2005/01/end..._of_horus/ ). Hercules was born of Acmene, impregnated by Zeus, who had taken on a mortal body (http://www.britneyisdead.com/Copycat/JesusHercules.html ). What makes Jesus' birth unique is not just that he doesn't have a father, but that his mother had never slept with a man. She is supposed to be a living example of the pure bride the Bible uses as a metaphor for the church (2 Corinthians 11:2, Ephesians 5:31-32). RE: The Son^3

Quote:Horus was not born of a virgin, but of Isis who had sex with Osiris' dead body. Indeed, and with a wooden penis. Set,their brother, murdered Osiris and chopped up his body. Isis gathered up the bits and put them back together and embalmed them, but couldn't find the dick. Isis made a wooden dick, attached it, then reanimated Osiris and had a test ride.It worked splendidly; Horus was conceived.
Well it depends on what definition you want to use for Virgin.. in the days of the bible virgin was interchangeable with young maiden.. so the others are relevant even though they may not have been the 20th century "virgin" they most likely qualified as young maidens..... you think a god is going to come down to earth for some old beat up pussy with saggy boobs? HELL NO he gonna get the prime cut.
Did I make a good point? thumbs up I cant help it I'm a Kudos whore. P.S. Jesus is a MYTH.
A wooden pecker ... dildo love. And here I was, thinking it was the shoulder that was missing and was remade of ivory ...

I was once fascinated by the whole Jesus myth once but now I've turned to just talking about the Bible. I've realized I'm no expert on ancient pagan religions and am in no position to discuss whether or not Christianity was copied or whether it borrowed heavily or was influenced by... etc.
However, I have read the Bible and what it says is right there in front of me. No need to get a doctorate in ancient religions. I can show you how this passage says one thing and that passage says something else. When I can show how Christians have never told a coherent story, never mind offered any evidence to show any of it is true, there is absolutely no need to prove that the story was copied from elsewhere. The whole damn thing (every single contradictory version) could be original and it makes the story no more worthy of serious consideration. Now it is true that Christian apologists will still stubbornly try to bury you with a tidal wave of hundreds of ad hoc hypotheses and tie themselves into knots with their obtuse interpretations but at least this way the burden of proof is solidly in their camp and their mental gymnastics only show how shaky their case is.
Atheist Forums Hall of Shame:
"The trinity can be equated to having your cake and eating it too." ... -Lucent, trying to defend the Trinity concept "(Yahweh's) actions are good because (Yahweh) is the ultimate standard of goodness. That’s not begging the question" ... -Statler Waldorf, Christian apologist
That said, DP, it is still a derivative myth cycle.
