Very little is invented whole cloth and we can establish just by reading the Bible alone that it is invented, not reported.
I'm not arguing against anything offered by those more knowledgeable about ancient mythology and pagan beliefs. I'm just saying when I argue against the supposed godman Jesus, I'm going to stay on more secure ground that I'm familiar with.

Simply put, the religious are all plagiarists.

Its always "good vs evil" all the time. Not a complex or tragic anti-villain in sight in either fictional universe. How perfectly mundane.

That is not demonstrably the case;correlation does not infer causation. It seems reasonable to assume some moral values (such as the Golden Rule) and basic theologies (such as the dying and resurrecting god) are discovered independently,at different times, at different places.
Having said that, I agree that Christianity is completely derivative, without a single new idea. It began as a purely Jewish sect,a faith itself strongly derivative of Zoroastrianism and Babylonian mythology. Over the centuries, Christianity has absorbed many Gods, turning them into saints, with their own modified idols. Christianity lacked a goddess,so the Marian cult was invented. Many goddesses were incorporated into that sect, where they remain today.

Precisely. (Wish I could kudos your post more than once.)

Did I mention I was brought up Catholic and have a degree in Social Anthropology?
Over the last few decades the Catholic church has been quietly removing some of the more dubious traditional saints from the official list.
Catholics all over the world have saints' festivals in which a statue of the saints paraded publicly with great pomp. Many of the festivals are pre Christian in origin.
Perhaps due to the relatively recent time line, specific examples are fairly easy to spot in Central and South American countries.
Harder to see in the British Isles where Churches have been built on pre Christian sacred sites. Scared springs, ponds, rivers and other waterways were absorbed into Christian lore. All have, their own saints, who may or may not have existed.
Judaism did the same kind of things as did Islam.
An interesting reference for England is "Thames; Sacred River" by Peter Ackroyd. This a vast subject, heaps on line.
