Would you date a Christian Moderate?

RE: Would you date a Christian Moderate?
Meh, not sure. Don't think so. My ex had a catholic grandmother who thought her house was haunted and we had to visit her *alot*. I humored her but I think I may of developed a brain tumor from enduring such intense stupidity. Some people reach old age none the wiser than when they were new born, that was more or less her entire family. Except her younger brother, he was cool.
Still, never again.

I think any very broad response will have to be a dogmatic one because the flimsy, opportunistic nature of Christianity, and the variability of each person's socio-educational background and psychological make up, can give "moderate christian" an essentially infinit variety of practical meanings.

The broadest response I might venture is I would consider a dating a Christian moderate if in my contact with her, "moderate" is a more salient attribute of her world view than "Christian". I would reject her if it is the other way around.

I AM dating a Christian moderate. It's not like there's an even sex ratio among atheists. My freethought group has women pretty well represented...at about a third of our membership. I'm 50 and almost all the atheist women I know close to my age are 'taken'. I'm with a woman who is kind and helpful and doesn't hassle me about being an atheist. I find my issues with women are more likely to revolve around money than religion.

And how on earth do you know?

I want to know how money even factors into relationships. I get it to an extent, but there are ways around disparities in income. Of course, I can see how it would be an issue with gold diggers.

Oh ho ho. Now you've made a mistake. Mehmet has a vast history of minimal bias and researching all his statements in vivid detail. I'm sure his next reply will be a carefully worded and completely factually based can of whupass that will bring us all to his way of thinking.

Nah, I'm just fucking with ya. Its pretty much the opposite of what I just said.
Had you worried though didn't I?

Money factors in with numerous different examples. The ways I've seen it are as follows:
One person has a different concept of what good spending habits are than the other. If the two people aren't making the bills together, and the reason is because of one and not the other, things get tense. Maybe the man works and the woman doesn't. Maybe (like in some relationships I know of) the woman has gotten higher education and a high paying job while the husband still works at Mcdonalds. (he might feel less than attiquite, or she might feel like he's not contributing enough.) Money is a great great stress. I've seen money destroy relationships, even when both people were doing everything they can to be good partners to the other. You have to be careful of that shit...

I did date a Christian Moderate for a while; lucky for me she saw reason and dropped religion like a bad habit.
