Male Rape - An Invisible Problem

RE: Male Rape - An Invisible Problem
I've never heard of such a thing happening. Fair enough, but I doubt it's the rule. Some big, fat, badass mamajama holds me at gunpoint and all I'm doing is saying, "the plumber is out the back."

well, if she decides to choke you, that would be one easy way to get you "up" for what's about to happen.

That's what references are for:

Now, because you're evil, I looked into the page on erections on Wikipedia. Too many dicks...

In any case, spontaneous erections are considered involuntary (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erection#S..._erections).

If you accept that there are involuntary erections, then it is not out of the question that one can have an erection while under intense psychological duress.

Of note, the first REF is a paper that is cited by quite a few people. This is a deflection of a potential "that's not relevant!" statement.

I feel I should remind people about basic logic.

Just because you can't imagine something happening to you, does not mean it cannot happen to someone else. Likewise, just because something (say, involuntary erections) don't happen to you, doesn't mean they don't happen to everyone else.

As to the original question, no, I don't believe everything I read. I do however place more trust on things that have multiple citations.

I think females being raped is a greater concern, but fair enough.

Perhaps a "greater" concern because there are more women who are raped than men, but it shouldn't be "greater" simply because they are women.

Why's that, exactly? Because they're women?

Rape committed against men isn't even recognized often times, and it's every bit as damaging and traumatic.

Did I suggest as much?

Because men are more violent and do commit more rapes, the majority of which are against women. If I recall correctly, as many as one woman in five will be sexually assaulted during her lifetime-and that is without the unreported cases. I'm against any violent crime, but women get the harsher end of this particular crime.
