Who positivity asserts. "there is no god!"

RE: Who positivity asserts. "there is no god!"
I assert that there is no evidence for the existence of any of the gods ever invented by human imagination.

I will hold that position until someone presents some.

So far that hasn't happened.

My views on the afterlife, god and other supernatural things is not a vehement nor confident claim of its non-existence. I simply state that there is not enough evidence to state that those things existence, and until there is evidence (empirical obviously) to show the existence of such, I live my life as if they do not exist. I'm very much an even and clear cut 6 on the Dawkins scale.

Though to be fair, proving the existence of one of those things does not prove the existence of all those things. Nor does proving they exist make any religion right as only existence would have been proved, not what the nature, desires and motivations of such things. Essentially if someone came along and proved to me that god exists, it would merely change my view on its existence, not my behavior nor of my love of logic and science.

I don't quite understand the choices for the poll but I am 100% agnostic since I know I don't know shit about any gods and 100% atheist since I have no belief in them whatsoever, including the belief that they do not existence. My agnosticism has nothing to do with any slight chance that gods exist. My agnosticism is simply the recognition that I'm in no position to offer any evidence for the non-existence of something for which no credible evidence has ever been offered. My beliefs are 100% void of anything remotely godlike. Certainly no such belief has earned its way onto my team based on the evidence, and I have no 'hunch' based on any subjective consideration which leads to me to save room for it.

An agnostic atheist, I assert only I do not believe due the lack of credible evidence.I make no claims.

However, when some dropkick begins preaching/proselytising at me,I tell them that I am not interested in their personal superstitions and that they should go way/leave me alone/fuck off ,depending on my mood..

Oh, I DID once do this a party: A vapid pair of a man and woman I did not know approached me and asked "Have you heard the news?" My response "No I have not, but if you start to tell me about Jesus, I am going to punch you in the face" Vapid dropkick and wifey beat a hasty retreat. To be fair,I may have been a little drunk.

I never Say that A/group of god/s do not exist, But I know the God of the Bible/Torah/Quran does not exist.

I agree. I think it's kind of silly to say that we "just don't know", that there may be some small possibility. It's pretty obvious to me that religious mythology is just that, mythology, it's a story created by man. Nothing more, and it deserves no special consideration with regard to statements of belief. Of course there are no gods. Get real!

Really? Please show me your proof.--You are going to be SO famous;the first person in recorded history to manage that task.

Making such a claim is no less absurd than a believer saying " I know the God of the Bible/Torah/Qur'an DOES exist". Both are positive claims attracting the burden of proof.

Argument from incredulity,a common logical fallacy.

Quote:Argument from incredulity/Lack of imagination

Arguments from incredulity take the form:

P is too incredible (or: I cannot imagine how P could possibly be true); therefore P must be false.
It is obvious that P is true (or: I cannot imagine how P could possibly be false); therefore P must be true.

These arguments are similar to arguments from ignorance in that they too ignore and do not properly eliminate the possibility that something can be both incredible and still be true, or appear to be obvious and yet still be false.

I agree with this completely.

I contend that you cannot get an objective definition of god, i.e. there are as many definitions of god(s) as are believers.

On Topic: Yeah, agnostic atheist here.

The claim in the book doesn't fit reality. Simple. Why do you think there's still a possibility they could have it right?
