Who positivity asserts. "there is no god!"
July 3, 2012 at 2:39 am
When I say this I do not mean any particular god(s). but a deistic god one with no other attributes than that they created the universe.
Now while I don't believe this, I don't assert there is no such god(s) because it is a positive assertion.
Who agrees with this statement
There is a point to this and I will reveal it after. And no I'm not going to call you all agnostics after you agree with the statement. In the strictest sense however I am an agnostic atheist or an Implicit weak/negative atheists which sounds a lot worse...

I'm an agnostic atheist, so yes, I agree.

Sorry, HEYA! And there is a propose but stating it would ruin the result. that's why I didn't exactly come in as friendly as I probably should have done.
My bad!

I often assert it but never really mean it,because i know that there's always a slight chance for the existence of god/s.

I assert that there are no unicorns, because I have never encountered a reason to believe otherwise. Why should gods be any different? There is always the unlikely chance that my assertion is incorrect, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
Do gods exist? I believe it is safe to say... probably not.

I don't assert that there is no god because there may be a god. I don't know for sure. My stance is - I don't believe any god exists. I acknowledge that it's possible however maintain that it's unlikely and so far completely unsupported.
I'm quite comfortable as an agnostic atheist. No claims made, just a simple rejection of baseless claims. I live my life on the assumption that god does not exist, that there is no afterlife and that every religion in the world is wrong. Just leave it as that and focus on living my life.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

You can actually confidently say God doesn't exist if he is fully defined. Can it be said that Zeus doesn't exist, or the Christian god for that matter?

I think you have to look at the big picture. God, as typically defined, is an unrestricted negative and cannot be disproven. It is only when the more cheeky theists actually get more specific in their metaphysical ramblings that their Gods become apparently false.
Also, I feel I can affirmatively assert that the Christian God isn't real.
But anyway, I see what you are getting at.
My conclusion is that there is no reason to believe any of the dogmas of traditional theology and, further, that there is no reason to wish that they were true.
Man, in so far as he is not subject to natural forces, is free to work out his own destiny. The responsibility is his, and so is the opportunity.
