Isn't it as simple as certain Christian denominations tell their flocks that atheism equates to Satan.

Most satanists are atheist. They are satanists as a mockery of their Christian upbringing.

Um, if you're "worshipping" yourself, that doesn't preclude your being an atheist, as most atheists set the lower bar at not believing in a god, any god. If you're suggesting they worship themselves as gods in anything but a metaphorical sense, I'd like to see some evidence of this. (And note, theist counter-apologists pick this up and make accusations in the other direction, that atheists / evolutionists / science lovers have simply replaced one god with another, and are likewise religious. I find this usage silly, but I also find redefining legitimately atheist or secular things like Marxism, Communism or Satanism as not being atheistic as an attempt to redefine one's way out of a jam. The jam remains, as redefining the question doesn't make it go away. [see also, Deism and Theistic Agnosticism])

Ah, I'm not particularly interested in re-educating myself when it comes to Satanism. My interest in religions gave me cause to look into it many years ago. I remember Satanism being juxtaposed to atheism, whether it was the long-standing version or the LaVey variety. I lost interest in perusing it further when I listened to a Satanic Mass... which was just a regular mass played backwards. Derision caused me to exit my enquiries. If I'm wrong about (a variety of) Satanism not being antithetical to atheism, then I'll take your word for it.

If all you have listed to from religious folk is gospel music, then some satanist music is better...but seriously their music is fucking crap....yelling syllables at the top of your lungs is not music.

I depends on what you mean by 'satanist' music. If you mean rock (as was once called music of the devil) then I agree that the screamer rock is too much, but they aren't all like that. Now if there is screamer rock by actual satanists, then I was unaware of that fact. (though I guess I wouldn't be surprised)
