Ask, Seek, Knock

Ask, Seek, Knock
I have used the Term: Ask, Seek, and Knock A/S/K and the verses in Luke 11 to describe the start point of Christianity in several threads now. Does everyone understand this principle fully? Do you know what you are A/S/K for and you do you what that looks like when you get what you A/S/K for? Do you know what to do with it when you got it?

I am open to PM's if you do not wish to openly discuss.

I understand it fully.

If I ask, seek, and knock, and God doesn't answer, it's my fault for some reason.

If you've listened to Dawkins, you know better than to try knockin'.

What kind of father tells his children (by way of a letter) that if they want to know him and find out what he can do for them, they have to prove themselves to him ... showing him that they want to love him and honor him even though they've never met him and he may very well be a complete and total scumbag?

I'll tell you what kind: a deadbeat douche bag of a father.

And yet somehow Drich and his fellow christards would have you believe that god is our heavenly "father."

No thanks dad. You see I am a father and I love my son unconditionally. I don't put parameters on him and tell him to ask, seek, knock and basically hope that he might "find" me. Yep, I would save him from drowning or a raging fiery inferno even if he had never once told me that he loved me. That's a father that loves a child more than he loves himself.

Your gods an asshole and anyone who serves him is an imbecile.

And somehow Drich knows that if God doesn't answer you, you haven't tried hard enough. It's a "you tried loving God and it didn't work? liar" kind of thing.

This is nothing but appeal to emotion. You fell for this and since you did and it sounds so great to you you want to sell it to others.

What you don't like is that even Thomas Jefferson did not view questioning like you do.

To you questioning is nothing more than "Learn more about us"

Jefferson's view was "Kick the shit out of the tires, investigate, and if you don't like the product, dont buy it"

"Question with boldness even the existence of a god, for if there be one, surely he would pay more homage to reason than to that of blindfolded fear".

Google that phrase and you should be able to find the entire letter. Later on he goes on to say that if your questioning leads you to end that there is no god, then you are being honest with yourself.

You only want questioning like a Salesman at a used car lot wants you to ask you about the pretty lemon he wants to stick you with.

"Get to know me first" is what the seemingly nice boyfriend says until you marry them and end up in the hospital.

Questioning requiers the ability to go where the evidence leads, not where you want it to go.

What you have stated involves work, that's you doing something for your salvation, it does not work that way (no pun intended). Drich like myself understand that sincerity is the key, a desire to see God's truth.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

......that's exactly what I said. Drich claims that even in cases of people that ARE sincere, they are "not sincere enough". He claims to know more than he actually does.

This is where you become an ath-tard. What makes You think God is your Father? Creator yes, but as a non believer you are not His son (yet.) It is the start of the process of A/S/K that will eventually have you grafted into the family. Right now you are a tare, a weed, chaff, a goat, in short undesireable. It is the undesireable that will be seperated from those slated to be with God. So don't worry neither God nor bible believeing Christians look at you as a brother/son. That said know the potential is definatly there. It simply depends on your willingness to A/S/K.

Would you risk your life for and provide for someone who has killed one of your kids? Would you consider this kid your son even after you look past all of the transgressions this bastard committed against you and your family (the death of your only son) And yet he still hated and lashed out at you every single chance he got?

No?!?!?!?! Confusedhock: what's that you say you could not consider this rotten kid your son???

Then why do ANY of You expect this from God? Understand Ath-tard, as you are not God is NOT Your Father, as such He bears no responsiablity in seeking your hateful heart out. As it is Now You are a goat, a weed, a tare. You are an undesireable to God. You are that bastard kid who hates the father and family in your story.

Even so the Father in this story has made away for you to redeem yourself if you want to be welcomed as a son. But, understand this He will not do any more than what has already been done for you. How much more could you possiable expect? It cost Him His Son to provide you this one oppertunity. He has gone more than half way to meet you. The Ath-tard who killed His Only Son who demands to still be chased after like a son!ROFLOL

God made us flawed on purpose. Any complaints he has with us 'sinning' are his own fault. He should take responsibility for deliberately messing us up.
