I'll be responding to it when I get home and have my Bible and other reference materials in front of me. The reason I'm posting this thought here is because it's beside the point of our formal debate and more an observation of how compartmentalized the Christian mind is.

I've often heard this defense from apologists and it amazes me how these Christians can hold these two contradictory thoughts in their mind at the same time:

1. "The Bible is the Word of God"
2. "Ah, gee whiz, whaddaya want, you nit-picker? So there are a few errors here or a few contradictions there. You expect perfection or something?"

Full disclaimer that this is beside the point of our debate and I don't plan to bring it up but it just astounds me that these two beliefs can be held by the same mind at the same time.

Well this gets to the crux of the contradictory claim of the atribute of "all" in "all powerful". If god is perfect then he cannot make mistakes, but if he cannot make mistakes then he is not all powerful. "All" is a contradiction by itself so the concept as a claim is broken and does not work logically.

Did we lose my opponent? Tomorrow's the deadline.

I've got my closing argument in mind either way.

Nah, he's online right now and is replying to it, according to his profile info.

Interesting, still no reply. Does he have all day today to make the reply before time is up?

Was finding the debate an interesting read. Ah well. :/

The deadlines are not that strict, though. It's just advised (or expected) that the debaters post within a particular time frame.

I'd like to allow some extra time if needed.

Judging by what he has written so far another 100 years wouldn't save his ass.

There's really nothing he can offer unless some archaeologist has in the last few days dug up some previously unknown evidence.

If he needs more time, fine but if he's abandoned the debate, I'd appreciate it if he'd say so. I'll wrap up my end with my closing arguments.

I've sent him a PM. We'll see if I hear anything back. Rayaan, we're on day six. How long should we wait?

He already sent me a PM (today), and told me that he will have his response up in the next couple of days. Didn't specify how many days.

He asked me if I could extend his response time. I said okay.
So, he'll probably tell you the same thing when he PMs you as well. If you're okay with that, then just tell him so.
