Nice to see what a mature bunch of "freethinkers" this is "he's trolling, he's trolling". Oh like they don't attack Christianity in every thread, and thrall out personal insults - but something as simple as asking why they push their agenda gets them all worked up! LOL

If you haven't noticed this is Atheist Forums. I don't go on to Christian forums and tell people they're wrong. If someone asks me point blank if I'm religious, I answer honestly and tell them, "No." If it comes up in conversation, I don't hide the fact that I'm an atheist. Now if they ask why, then that's an invitation...

Why do you force your children's schools to refrain from holding our FSM revival meetings and keep the poor children from praying to his holy noodliness? Why do you not love our country founded on the love of pasta?
Why do you have so much hate in you not to accept his spicy goodness?

I did answer; I don't go out of my way to push my beliefs onto anyone else. Now, if someone tries to impose their beliefs on me, I am well within my rights to tell them that their beliefs are bullshit and I won't hesitate to do that. But you aren't going to see me marching into a church or even an online Christian forum and telling them to all give up their imaginary friend. Simply put, I won't invade your space to tell you what to believe as long as you show me the same respect. Idiot OP obviously didn't follow that rule.

That being said, I would like it if more people became atheists. Fact is, in a democracy like ours, popularity is political power and I'm tired of having to vote for the politician who professes to hate us the least. I'm tired of having to have some yahoo try to post the Ten Commandments all over public land and often get away with it. I'm tired of having idiots tell me that my being queer is someone interfering with their freedom of religion. And if spreading the word about atheism will help me resolve any of those problems, I won't hesitate for a second to do it.

That being said, at least most people who profess to be Christian are fairly apathetic about it or at least they can be reasonable with it.

3. The OP didn't just ask a question, he was simultaneously ignorant, pedantic and offensive. First he mistook atheism for a religion, which is ignorant.

Firstly, "religion" and "agenda" are somewhat synonymous, and I would suggest he used the word in place of agenda to draw attention to the "movement type" aspect of your beliefs (/faith). If you don't like atheism being described as a religion, then here's a thought for you - stop describing Christianity as a religion.

And you're not the thought-police, he can think whatever he wants, no matter how stupid those thoughts may be.

He then tarred every atheist with the same brush by saying we push our atheism on people (whilst also being a massive fucking hypocrite for being here in the first place), and then went on to imply we should be able to prove a negative.

And you show your intelligence by asserting you know the exact reason why he's here. Why don't you enlighten me by telling me why I'm here as well?

If you were having a conversation with friends and a bloke suddenly joined in without introducing himself just to start making disingenious questions, inplying stuff about you that are utterly untrue, you wouldn't like it either.

There are ways to know the demeanor in wich a question is asked. If your fellow religionist was truly making an honest question, he would have phrased it like this: I hear that atheism is a religion and they try to push it unto others, is this true?; or: Where do atheists get their morality from?

Phrasing is very important in a civil conversation, and if that guy truly was interested in having such, he would've introduced himself properly, then asked things in that way. You aren't here long enough to assert that hit and run trolls are one of the most prolific ones around. They are not interested in hearing what we say, they are interested in saying what they think of us and go to their fellows claiming he as 'pwned' atheists.
