The question as to why you want me to kindle your rage! I guess it's not that important, I'm still waiting to see if Napoléon or festive1 are going to come up with an intelligent response. Nap seems to have completely ignored my post and moved on. Nos that the OP has returned and posted, he seems to me to be a regular, moderate person - not this "troll" everyone made him out to be.

Well, whatever else he may be, he is pretty ignorant about atheists. It is a little brash to come onto this site and insist that people accept your premise and just answer the damned question. As you probably realize many atheists (probably most of us on this site) don't 'believe' that gods don't exist. We have no faith regarding the status of gods. Some of us find the concept of 'god' poorly defined or even unintelligible. So much so that to make any assertion about them is just absurd. Of course there are plenty of atheists who will happily tell you that they are certain the Christian god does not exist, but personally I just don't care enough to wade through all the Christian lore to make the case. Believe what you like but if you believe that I have faith that gods don't exist, you are simply mistaken.

You wouldn't be kindling my rage Daniel. I appreciate examples being offered when accusatory questions are asked...even if I disagree with the accusation.

You like generalizing Christians a lot. You think I haven't met people who are angry with God? Do I generalize and say "you're all the same"? No, I don't. We are all just human after all, what's the big deal? Why is suddenly so important if he makes a couple of meaningless generalizations? How does that justify personal insults?

See that's a perfectly reasonable response, aside from the assumption that the OP is ignorant (did you mean arrogant perhaps?) It clearly says implicitly that you yourself aren't interested in pushing an agenda.

Do I now? I like to think I let them handle making their own generalizations when they self identify as christian (or when they elaborate upon their christian "principles"). Perhaps you could offer some examples of my generalizations?
(I can think of one, btw.....but it probably wont lead where you want it to lead...)

You mean why is it so important if his every post contains meaningless generalizations...generalizations which he is then incapable or unwilling to establish as accurate...but continues driving on to make more anyway? Generalizations which we have all seen dozens of times, generalizations which are the firm territory of drive by posters and fundy dipshits? Generalizations which he does not care to retract or readdress when they are shown to be without warrant? Because that makes him a troll. If my calling a troll a troll is an insult so be it, but it's still an -accurate- insult.

Even on an atheist forum there are christians telling other people how or how they should not behave without feeling they should be constricted by this moral code themselves. It is odd how a belief in one god consistently produces double standards.

I'm going to have to stick with ignorant. That is hardly derogatory. The OP simply does not know much about atheists. In his ignorance he assigns positions to us which are the flimsiest of strawmen. But his audacity is to then insist that we answer for those strawmen positions. This makes him a dick as well as an ignoramus.
