Vile christians.
Quote:After his father told me I'm going to hell the other day I asked him if it bothered him that I wouldn't be in heaven with him. He said he hadn't thought about it, clearly some discomfort to him, as he believes he will meet everyone again in the afterlife! More discord than the thought of what happens after death to him
Many many christians don't even believe in hell any more. What makes his father right? Answer: nothing, besides his own silly superstitions.
Death is coming for us all. I say let it be what it is.
Heaven and hell are ridiculous notions made up by people just like you and me. In the history of time, no man has ever wanted to say goodbye to the people he has loved the most in this life. It's the human condition. People will do and say anything to alleviate the sadness, the fear, and in some cases, the unending sorrow of saying goodbye for one last final time.

When your mind thinks about death, just go look at porn to distract yourself.
As soon as I warm up to you, you say something that makes me conclude that you will never be my Consigliere. You never considered snuff porn before dispensing your wisdom.
Good catch, amico mio.
Don't touch the snuff porn. It'll mess you up in the head.
In fact don't touch any porn. Just go squaredancing. It's my anti-porn.

Religion was invented since humans have never been able to comprehend what happens after death.
Which has to be one of the following,
a. Life after death (heaven or hell as most religion tries to tell you)
b. reincarnation
c. Nothing
obviously not all of these possible answers are all correct, two of them must be false. I will not get the ultimate answer to that million dollar question until I die. If we consider these opinons, then c ulimatly makes most sense since there no evidence of earlier life, it it was then why don't we remember any of it, as for life after death if there was nothing before I was born then there no evidence of after life existing as well. Death will probably most likely be like dreamless sleep and so what is so bad about that then?

It is a waste of time to fear the inevitable.

Ok...so a creature lives, and then it dies. Why even ask the question what happens after it dies, we know what happens - it stays dead. Taking superstition and wishful thinking out of the equation, leads you to think that logically it must be c. Why would something happen to a dead creature?
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

I don't think that most people fear death in general, but a death that comes before they accomplished what they want. So good antidotes to this fear are seizing the day and stopping procrastinating.

I am not afraid of the concept or the moment of death. I am afraid of dying, which could be a very painful or prolonged process. I fear spending my last moment in pain and suffering. My consolation is that after I die, my problems are over.

This is a very rational fear, but pain and suffering in the moment of death could be shortened or at least made less hard to bear if we improved the treatment of pain and we legalized euthanasia.

Now if only we could improve the entire world and keep people from getting themselves into car accidents, battlefields, motorcycle wrecks, homicides, suicides, drownings, poison, planes crashing into buildings, animal attacks, insect bites, parasites, and all manner of accidents associated with recreational hobbies.
