If logical thinking doesn't lead you to atheism you're doing it wrong.

You might feel differently if everyone around you was trying to run the country you live in based upon what they believe to be Dracula's will.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Even as a Deist you have to admit that at some point you're taking the idea of god on a leap of faith? No?

I've never understood Deism. It's like, "Not having your cake, and not eating it, too."

To my mind, the idea of god cannot be anything other than a leap of faith. Unless, of course, god decides to put in a personal appearance and we're somehow able to verify that it is indeed god. It may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato, which has warped our minds.

I can respect deism on two counts.

1: They put God into only one gap, and it is a gap into which only blind speculation will exist for the foreseeable future. Deism is Creationism which makes no active effort to contradict science.
2: They do not attempt to invent 'God's will' or enforce any kind of social or behavioral code based on this invention.

I don't agree with deism, but it's as inoffensive as theism can possibly be.

It is not the name of Jesus himself, it is the stupidity of those uttering it.
