I'm a Business Analyst for a global financial services company and I've been working with them for just over 16 years. I like (and am consequently very good at) the technical aspects of my job but I have problems with the political parts. Unfortunately, promotion in my company relies very much upon political savvy.
Gutted.

I finished a bachelor in environment management a few months back and am I applying for a job at a national park, which is hell right now.
Untill then, I clean in mostly grumpy old people's houses. I am starting to hate it, though every now and then I meet interesting old people.

CPA specializing in corporate and partnership taxation.
Special projects are fun. Normal compliance isn't. It's not my dream job, but it pays well and is extremely secure.

I study syntax! I've finished my linguistics program already, so now I'm just taking a few extra linguistics courses to finish off my BA.
I, too, absolutely love languages and linguistics.

Front line manager on a government contract. I've been a traffic analyst, convenience store clerk, carpenter's assistant, and ditch digger, too...about 50 pounds ago.

After working through a few different jobs I secured an adult apprenticeship as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic @ the age of 41 (incidentally following my son into the trade by about a year).
I actually met Kichi at trade school
I now rebuild giant diesels for the mining industry.
And I do enjoy it, the work is good and my work colleagues are excellent, in fact two of them were groomsmen at our wedding.
If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

Hmm... what do I do? Good question. Almost nothing.
I study Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures... but it bores me, so lets not talk about that. I am a blues guitarist... I should do more with my ability, but I'm too damn lazy, I just gig around Dundee.
I am also working on some ideas to develop into manga.
What I really like the most is my music... the blues is that kind of thing that you only need to hear one note and it has you hooked. That is what happened to me. My love for it is too great to put into words and no matter how often I listen to all the greats, they still manage to blow my mind.
