Coming in late, and clearly the topic has wandered, but I'm familiar with a certain group of Muslims, Bantu refugees from Somalia, and found them to be exceptionally modest and serious about no sex before marriage. I've never noted a single girl pregnant before marriage...her entire family would be shamed, and shunned, to the point of them having to move. The girls don't let boys hug them because it could lead to kissing. The boys would bring similar shame if they were discovered to be having sex.

I've seen similar in a particularly tight-knit conservative African-American Christian community, to the point of no kissing before marriage. It's unsusual, but it exists.

I would say that it takes a close and committed religous community that overlaps families and friendships and highly values saving sex for marriage. It pretty much has to be your world. And of course, it won't be 100%, I'm just saying that there are groups where you CAN tell abstinence before marriage is taken really seriously.

Response: No one ever stated that thousands of women currently can't get married because all men are taken either, but that IF are men were to marry one woman, there would be thousands of women who can't marry. Secondly, the ratio relates to birth rate, not current population. So it is invalid.

Our resident Muslim doesn't understand why I brought up Islam when he's already brought it up multiple times in this thread.

I think many theists forget that we know that there is an end goal to all these sidetracks, which is the "AH HA, gotcha, therefore" tactic.

So regardless of religious label, unless someone is discussing politics or sports or movies, when they talk about math and science or "ratios" in this case, to me it is completely pointless.

Not that they cant or shouldn't. But when you post your religious position(I have decided not to call it a belief anymore), that is what I focus on because that cuts to the core of what humanity is always divided over. So why not simply skip the dance and get to it?

This math proves this, that science proves that...........still does not constitute any type of magical cosmic invisible friend by any name. If they want to make the attempt(anyone, not just Muslims), have at it. Why hide behind the real issue?
