You know, I always find it fucking funny how people who say "I'm worried about the government so I need guns!" are also the same fuckers who vote for pieces of shit who increase military spending, and tow the line with their goddamn party to the point where "I'll take arms against the government" means fuck all. They also tend to be the same pieces of shit who don't give two fucks when unarmed people are shot by cops.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

Divinity, when they say they are afraid of the "government" that is simply code for "we have to be able to kill any niggers the cops miss."
Don't take much of what these assholes say at face value.

I would be far more concerned if Clinton or Sanders was elected. I'm actually completely and totally comfortable with Trump in office.
There are a few common and trusted truths in the US economy and government... When men's underwear sales go down and/or the common liberal party(s) are happy, the stock market goes down. When the stock market goes down, gun sales go up.
As of now, Haines' (and the like) sales of men's underwire is at a decade high, the stock market is breaking records, and gun sales are relatively flat or slightly declining in some sectors. As a shining sign of retardation within the American public, the liberals are pissed to beat hell. Dow is up to 23,328 (Record High) from 18,000 this time last year and the S&P 500 is at 2,575 (record high) from 2,075 this time last year. Only those that haven't bothered to do well enough in life are the ones upset by that.
Nothing is perfect, but more white people are shot by cop than blacks, more armed people are shot by cops than unarmed, and sometimes the police do society a favor by accidently getting rid of a teeny tiny number of stupid unarmed people per year anyway. Silver linings man... silver linings.

Has it ever occurred to you that people might be legitimately pissed off about things other than stock market performance or the sales figures for guns and underwear? Let me guess, you're one of those people who conflate stock market performance with overall economic health, right? Mix in a little Herbert Spencer by way of Ayn Rand for good measure?
Quote:Nothing is perfect, but more white people are shot by cop than blacks,
As a proportion of total population? As a proportion of the total number of police encounters?
Quote:more armed people are shot by cops than unarmed,
I'd certainly fucking hope so!

Yep, social Darwinist. Nailed it.
Oh, and 'accidentally'? If they share your views, I doubt it's accidental.

Economic health actually is a leading indicator of societal health within the bands of that economy. When there is low economic growth or prosperity, there is much higher poverty. From a psychological level and psychosocial level, poverty drives lower education levels, teen pregnancy, exposure to violence, infant mortality, adolescent development, etc. etc.
So yeah, economic health is a key performance indicator for any society.

It is what you stated though. You were 100% dead on with that stamen though. I'll give ya that.
From the gun aspect; more individuals that are killed from crime (civilian vs civilian, cop vs civilian,) are within the poverty sector of society.
Should we take away the guns, continue to spend billions of dollars on trying to take away guns and decades old ineffective methods to solve poverty, or should we just focus on the root causes of the issue?

Just stop using "militia", you fucks don't know what that word means.

I have to admit; when I hear the word "militia", I immediately think "slack jawed, booger eating, idiot". Though when the Bill of Rights was written, a Militia was seen much differently as what we consider it to be today.
mi-li-tia
[mi-lish-uh]
a body of citizens organized in a paramilitary group and typically regarding themselves as defenders of individual rights against the presumed interference of the federal government.
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/militia?s=t
By definition, I think we are far from needing anything remotely close to that today.

That's not the "militia" definition in the Constitution. Militia were locals who trained together and were supposed to be first responders in case of attacks, insurrections or rebellions. They trained using the King's Regulations drills, hence the "well regulated" bit. Most of them has their own rifles, a prime dinner-getter back then, but some had to borrow one from the state government.
