Jesus, Least Fit Moral Judge
RE: Jesus, Least Fit Moral Judge
Drich, what if god doesn't exist and you're just coming up with excuses to make the story in the book fit into the reality we can't ignore?

Whats the score at present?

A god that created two unequal sets of men
Yes Not all men were created equal under God. Does not a potter have the right to make what ever vessel out of the clay He wishes? For some He made for a glorious purpose, and other vessels He makes for meger tasks.
All types of vessels are needed.

Quote:A god that draws it's authority from might
Indeed, and if you were honest with yourself so does every authoritive instution man has set fourth. If you do not think so, stop paying your taxes and board yourself up in your house when the tax man comes to collect and see what happens.

Quote:A god that set an immpossible task
He also provides attonement for those who seek it. Two sides of the same coin.

Quote:A god that does not love you
Not as this culture has warped and changed the meaning of this word. No.

Quote:A god that officially hands out kill orders and license thereof
To goverments. (which subsequently you do not seem to take issue with.) Like it was ok for man to kill man, but when God authorizes it then somehow it is a sin against humanity. Your a hypocrite and a builder of weak straw men.

Quote:A god that makes no promise of fairness or equity
No one does. unless your 6, but outside of the ice cream shop what authority do your parents have (those who promised you a fair shake) to ensure you are treated fairly the rest of your life?

Quote:Just tell us how he hit a baby and hates America and we can all be done with it eh?
Why do you need me to say anything? I am sure you can peice meal something together out of what has already been said. (like you did with the rest of this thread)

You're one to talk.

WOW, so before you go any further let me get this straight. It is ok to murder if you deem it ok?

I did not in any of my posts, say it was all right to murder. Factually the opposite, actually. I may dictate through a law that you can't murder me, and thus have there be a punishment for it but that punishment would definitely not be death, or I'd be as bad as the murderer. Punishment meaning, rendering you incapable of hurting. Even hitler, I wouldn't have murdered I just woulda locked his crazy ass up. I can't see how you interpreted any of my anti-murder quotes, as that I would murder to keep a murderer from murdering. Nope, not real. Not happening. Please re-read my posts and reply accordingly to what I was saying, thanks.

I left you an out. In that I summed the following statement up as 'murder':

It's actually more logical to believe that there isn't anywhere after death, for the mere fact that religion uses it to get what it wants from people, in life. Charlatan comes to mind, when I think about any person on earth who tells me that if I don't do what they want or live like they want me to, then I will be thrown into an alleged sadistic eternal lake of fire. Before you go spouting off that I indeed dictate what others do myself in terms of not wanting others to murder or rape--consider this. You were put on this earth, so was I. We are equals. I simply took your statement to it's logical conclusion. In that the only way to stop someone bent on raping or murdering another person is to kill them.

At this point you had two options. Restate and clarify your intertionaly ellusive wording, or set up a default situation where my understanding of your statement effectivly ends the conversation.
It seems as if you've decided to end the conversation. I say that because less than 1/3 of the total conversation speaks to your position on murder, the conversation could easily continue on all other fronts.

However, If you wish to continue this conversation then answer the following with an yes or no:
If I and/or someone else in whom you hate set a weekly appointment to Rape you, and NOTHING else could be done to stop us, beside you killing your attackers. Would you Murder them?

Again only answer if your interesting in continuing this conversation. If however you did set this conversation up to default on my failure to comply to your request. Then I'll allow you to make a snarky comment without producing a follow up. (in essence giving you the last word) Just don't ask any questions, that I may be compelled to answer.
Wink

If this is it I look forward to our next discussion.

Hi, I come from a country that has no death penalty, and I'm here to tell you that this is wrong. We lock people up who are bent on those things, and try to rehabilitate them. If they can't be, we keep them locked up. Murder might be your god's first option, but it's not the first option of a civilized society.

So prior to any crime being commited in "your forward thinking country," if someone is suspected of wanting to kill or rape someone they are "rehabilitated?" Because other wise how would you prevent the crime from happening a moment before it does?

Commendable, but not the answer I was hoping you'd find.

Question: What language was the NT written in?
