Jesus, Least Fit Moral Judge

Catfish! Please supply evidence as to why we should give your definition of the word "eternal" more credence than its alternate meaning, other than just the fact that you said it. Otherwise, your claim has no credibility, and can be safely ignored in favor of using the secondary definition, which Surtr did provide evidence for.

This is how argumentation works, sir. Your claim isn't valid just because you made it.

Surtr provided the evidence. It's up to you to decide if "eternal" is the correct translation of aeonian.
Please don't use circular reason like he did. If your definition uses an example from the Bible, then you're using the Bible to support the Biblical translation.

Are you suggesting that 'for ever and ever' has some non-forever meaning?

The pertinent info I have to add is that you are picking at irrelevancies because you have no actual point to argue.

Are you suggesting that the NT was written in English and that there is no possibility of mistranslation? Do you subscribe the the "infallible" theory? Are you a closet appologist? lol

No no, that's what I'm saying! Surtr did provide evidence, and you have not! You've just insisted that you are right, without giving reasons why!

Except his definition didn't use an example from the bible. It just used a phrase that has a religious connotation- "eternal hellfire" or somesuch. It also had a number of other examples, which, if we're keeping score, puts it at about one hundred percent more credibility than your completely baseless assertion to the contrary.

I dunno, maybe you just don't know what circular reasoning is.

Oh, and still waiting on that evidence that your position is the correct one.

Do you have proof that it is mistranslated? If so, provide.

As the entire thing is horse shit, its purity is of no concern to me, but if we have to question the translation of any part of it, we have to question the translation of every bit of it, rendering every Bible in existence useless. And, since the Bible is the only 'evidence' of God, it renders the entire foundation of faith in God fraudulent.

The proof is in the definition.

Wait a second here... Did you really just make the claim that the Bible is evidence of God? lol, too fucking funny!

Last time I'm going to ask this: Please provide any form of evidence that the definition you have cited is the one we should use, here. Simply making the claim is not enough: you could- and it's becoming increasingly likely as this dialogue goes on- simply be full of shit.

Without support, your claim means very little.

WTF guys? Surtr provided my evidence, it's up to you guys to interpret it.

Hey, if you guys want to believe that something pertaining to an eon (an age) is eternal using circular reasoning, that's fine... I'll simply consider you fundie sheeple appologists...
