Lady rises from the dead

RE: Lady rises from the dead
As I said it is due to a rare medical condition. Let me find a better link since you're so insistent I'm wrong....

Here you go I found you a documentary on it.

Link

From the "review" it sounds like she's been pronounced dead 3 or 4 times and woken up in the hospital or morgue each time, I'll watch it later when it's not so late! Big Grin

Way back before modern medicine it was quite common to put flag tubes down to the coffin just in case a mistake was made. But all that means is someone made a mistake, it does not mean the person was actually dead past the window. Once that window is shut it is shut, you are dead and you don't come back from that.

No one survives rigor mortis. PERIOD. Do not fuel the superstitions of morons please.

Do not conflate mistakes on the part of doctors or nurses or any medical staff as allowing stupid woo to fester. We have enough credulity in the world we don't need to feed it more.

Yep I agree on that.

Ok then we are not in disagreement.

So please I would simply suggest don't keep mixing their claims in that hoax as being the same as a medical mistake. It feeds the credulous and we don't need more stupidity in the world.

HOAX= The lie that people survive rigor mortis.

Misdiagnosis= someone fucked up

Those are not the same thing. Lets not keep going in circles if we agree, that is all I am saying. We called them out, we caught them in a lie, and that is what we should focus on and expose. I think we can put this to rest without feeding gullibility. We want people to escape these mind traps, not fall for them.

RE: Lady rises from the dead
This version of the story is a little different: http://www.shortnews.com/start.cfm?id=70942

"West Virginia: 59-year-old Charleston resident Val Thomas is alive after being dead so long she began to succumb to rigor mortis. Her son Jim said: "Her skin had already started to harden and her fingers curled. Death had set in."

For over 17 minutes, she showed no sign of a pulse or brain activity whatsoever, this after suffering two heart attacks. The issue of organ donation was already underway when she came back to life after life support was disconnected for 10 minutes."

This story was published the same day, but it says 17 minutes, not 17 hours; and its clearly the son concluding that 'death had set in', not a doctor concluding rigor mortis had set in (which takes hours). The FOX version is likely a sensationalization of an already sensational story. Whatever was causing her fingers to stiffen up wasn't rigor mortis, her survival is remarkable, not miraculoous.

I really enjoy being a Christian, I also have had so much proof of God in my own life that I am fully convinced of God's existence. The story of the woman does not balance my faith, it makes no difference to me. But I still think it is interesting that the doctors said it was unexplainable. My prayer for each of you is that you come to know the full life that is found in Jesus. There is an interesting verse in the bible it says:

Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

God has made himself knowable to the person who desires to seek after the truth. He is not a distant God, he speaks he interacts, he does all sorts of things in a Christians life. I am glad I have God.

Good for you, but whether or not you enjoy it makes little difference to me (or to whether or not it is an accurate representation of reality). If you have any proof whatsoever, share it with someone, because your lot have been looking for that proof for two thousand years now and have come up empty handed. There are many things that many people cannot explain (can you explain to me how a telephone works?). Interesting, meh, I don't know, that's a personal opinion - "you/I can't explain therefore god" is a non-starter. You, as a believer in this god, should be the first to pipe up and mention this. If you want to pray for something, pray for something useful, as my finding jesus is a non-event. There are plenty of pressing issues you could plead with your deity to resolve - and I'd suggest that you do that instead. Why waste this cosmic appeal on something so utterly useless by comparison? I doubt that you know anything at all about any god, but I realize that you and I will not see eye to eye on this. Distant would be a very apt description of this gods location. If you hear a god speaking with you or interacting with you you've went of the rez, jumped ship, left the farm - etc. Seek help. Please present a single example of a god doing anything in your life? Again, I'm glad that you're glad, but this means very little beyond that.

There have been occasions where I though some one was lying, but God does not tell me specifically when a person is lying. If you want to know what God has told me read my website at http://www.futureandahope.net it records my personal experiences with God. There have been others but it is a good overall list.
Hey I love God he is awsome.

It’s true. I can remember seeing old crypts in abandoned cemeteries around Beaufort, SC with bells hanging by the door and the pull cord back through the wall into the crypt when I was a kid in the 60s.
