I fear someone's conflating blind obedience to an o'erweening and totalitarian authority with a desire to live together in a stable society. Arguments in favour of any social system including anarchy can be made to be so compelling, I'm sure, but I rather suspect that the armchair anarchists would be among the first to complain the first day the dustbins don't get collected. Then again, I used to work for the UK Central Government, so clearly I can't be trusted.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Blind adherence to authority? If that's what someone taught you growing up, then that person had no notion of what a democracy is all about. The obedience people are supposed to give in service to the government is part of a social contract between the government and the people it governs that certain services detailed in a physical or unwritten constitution will be provided unto the people, such as protection from domestic and foreign aggression, maintenance of the infrastructure of society, provision of mediation in civil disputes, etc.
On the other hand we have the right to complain, protest, and in some cases overthrow our government if we feel it is not living up to its obligations, and it is able to arrest us if we don't fulfill ours.
That's how it works in western societies at any rate.

It doesn't say anything about doing everything other humans tell you to do only what God tells you. The moral is meant to be that you will fail to do everything God tells you and so live in sin and through sin suffering enters the world. But if you don't believe in God you can ignore all that.

By hearts he meant the inner silent voice of the soul, the mystical shit, the stuff you can't really demand evidence for because it's intangible like God.
