Islam & Evolution, were we wrong ?

RE: Islam & Evolution, were we wrong ?
Anything can be labelled a daft idea, but what separates the wheat from the chaff is the evidence. If the UW physicists think they have found a way to validate the Lattice, it's up to them to demonstrate it and have their evidence and methodology evaluated. Were someone to come up with a similar methodology to validate theistic evolution, they'd be held to precisely the same standards. Until such experimental methods and the data gathered thereby have been demonstrated, any speculation about it is just the flapping of gums.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

The only thing i will add is that its funny that on the islamic forum i go onto they ALL agree evolution is false, its a false religion and a faith and should be kept out of schools. They give sad stories about how their children get bad marks because they refuse to learn evolution and say things like "why didnt humans evolve scorpions tails? or evolve fur when we go into cold climates"
If you think the quran provides proof of evolution sure go ahead, you can basically extrapolate any other belief out of that fucking book you might aswell include that too

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

There is one small piece of possible evidence for theistic evolution the human body seems to correspond neatly to the ratio of phi. Though you will see the same thing in other plants and animals to some extent along with much of what you see in the universe in general.

Human body temperature is apparently the same as phi as well.

And the human heart rate.

And from that you get you come to the conclusion that Jesus is Lord.

"This is why we are beautiful to each other, because the 'Golden Section is Beauty itself'. This is why, our bodies are beautiful and why they can be powerful, if we unite with our Creator. And His Name is JESUS."

Or the Quran is the word of Allah or whatever. I think that's a bit of a jump though.

Quote:A long-proposed thought experiment, put forward by both philosophers and popular culture, points out that any civilisation of sufficient size and intelligence would eventually create a simulation universe if such a thing were possible.

And since there would therefore be many more simulations (within simulations, within simulations) than real universes, it is therefore more likely than not that our world is artificial.

If this turns out to be true we're still left with the mystery of how the very first civilisation to create the first simulation got there. Maybe our physicists will be able to send them some kind of message to ask them. Let's just hope that they don't have a computer malfunction because we'd all be in a lot of trouble. Smile

There's a lot of scientists doing gum flapping, then. I'm just pointing out that there are scientists who believe in theistic evolution. I didn't come up with the idea of theistic evolution myself and I don't believe in it either.

It's a bit of a jump in the same way that the nuking of Hiroshima was a bit noisy.

I hear it might have been a bit bright and a bit warm as well.

Mind you, if the Lattice idea turns out to be true it would mean that Theistic Evolution is closer to reality. The only big difference would be that the evolution of our own universe was set off by some alien species instead of a supernatural being.

Do these scientists have any basis for their gum flapping? I'm aware that there's a lot of religiously-minded scientists in the world, but what counts is the work they do that adds to the sum of human knowledge. It's been pointed out that Sir Isaac Newton was devoutly religious, as well as a practising alchemist, yet his scientific contributions vastly outweigh his religious ones.

As you may have spotted, I don't believe in this theistic evolution either. However, it should be easy enough for a proponent of it to demonstrate it, if it really is a thing.

Going by the work they've done, many of them have added to the sum of human knowledge in spite of being religious.
