The end of the World is at hand.
RE: The end of the World is at hand.
A blessed day is one where your family, friends, acquaintances, and someone's little girl is tortured, then raped, then murdered, then banished into hell?

I am not baffled by it... These things happen to other rivers all the time, throughout the ages. Just because this one happened doesn't mean those ancient tribesmen were so smart: it just means it finally happened to a river they mentioned.

I've seen similar prophesies made by gypsies.
And i agree with samson, it is probably like what happened to the Aral sea: dammed to death.
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

The funny thing is, when the rapture doesn't come, Truthy boy here will just say it was a coincidence the Euphrates dried up, and that next time it will be for real Tongue

Quote:Yes, when it's a specific river mentioned, that is a fulfilled prophecy.

But it's got to run dry one day. That's what ALL rivers must eventually do, and most of them several times. If the bible has said when it would run dry giving the actual year, then that would be impressive, but just to say that it will is meaningless. After all, a river can't keep flowing forever can it? So therefore there must come a time when it will run dry.

This is no more prophetic than claiming the Sun will be eclipsed by the moon or night follows day.

I prophecise that the River Thames will flood. I'm not saying when but it will do one day. And when it does, either today, tomorrow or in a thousand years you can all look back at this text and claim it to be divine and sacred!

Why would John give an exact year when the Euphrates would run dry? Jesus said, 'No one knows of that hour or day", but "Watch for these signs".

How so? Claiming the Sun will be eclipsed by the moon is one thing, but to say a river will run dry is another. I don't think you understand the significance of the Euphrates River in the times of Revelations.

Of course it's easy to say a river can possibly flood, but to say it will run dry is a fulfilled prophecy. Anyone that reads the bible with a critical eye knows that John spoke directly to God in dreams and visions. But atheists claim John was a delusional lunatic. Well, this lunatic said the euphrates will run dry before the end of time.

Put on your seatbelts... armageddon is close at hand. We are the generation that will witness the coming of Christ.

It's just too bad when it does happen, I won't be able to say, "I told you so!"

Maybe you guys should have paid attention to that "lunatic-christian" in your discussion forum. Thinking

Min, especially when you live in the South (U.S.)....Tongue

I guess I should just go out and start buying everything on credit...Why not? The end is near isn't it?? Don't have to worry about paying back the bank if Jesus is coming.....

What a fucking joke, along with the ones who believe this idiocy.

Nice and ambiguous..

Because both are inevitable. As all rivers will one day run dry then claiming that it will is simply stating the obvious.

Every generation for the past 2000 years has said that. What makes this one any different? And they believed that they had just as much cause for their belief as you do.

Anyone can make these generic, deliberately vague claims; You haven't shown a single reason as to why these claims are any more valid than predictions made by any old corner store quack.

I simply don't understand why you insist on living in a region as full of dipshits as Louisiana? Perhaps you should move somewhere more enlightened?

(Hint: Arizona is not it!)

Why would you want to go out and take something knowing you don't have to pay for it? WWJD?

Not to sound rude, but the only idiocy are those people who do not read a book from 2,000 years ago, and see that current events are lining up perfectly. ie; Signs of the Times.

Ok, I'll bite. All rivers will run dry one day. But why did John specifically mention the Euphrates?

Quote:Every generation for the past 2000 years has said that. What makes this one any different? And they believed that they had just as much cause for their belief as you do.
Ha! I know, you're right about that one. But the end of the world was not even possible until at least the 20th century. When Jesus returns, "All eyes shall witness the return". This was not even possible until the invention of satellites, cable tv, internet. The book of Revelation mentions "fire raining from the sky". Unless he was either talking about nuclear war or meteors. Only John himself witnessed these visions. And I don't think he understood "nuclear missile". So he said "fire raining from the sky". In a recent interview Iranian President Ahmoud Ahmadinajad said, "Iran can rain down 11,000 missiles per minute on Israel". I will find link if you want..
