Are we living in a metastable universe?

Are we living in a metastable universe?
Observations on the mass of the top quark and Higgs particle candidate are leaning that direction. If it is true, our universe could be relatively short lived.

Ah this must be this.

Quote:Scientists say they may be able to determine the eventual fate of the cosmos as they probe the properties of the Higgs boson.

A concept known as vacuum instability could result, billions of years from now, in a new universe opening up in the present one and replacing it.

Hmm looks like one universe could replace an older one.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I've read about vacuum metastability events before, it's a pretty terrifying scenario to consider.

RE: Are we living in a metastable universe?
I did read about this on the bbc news today. It's an interesting idea, but nothing that we can apparently influence.

So the conclusion is clear: We invent a dimensional gate and escape this reality, as Lord Nemesis did from the City of Heroes. All Hail Lord Nemesis!
If you believe it, question it. If you question it, get an answer. If you have an answer, does that answer satisfy reality? Does it satisfy you? Probably not. For no one else will agree with you, not really.
