Is the Christian God fair?

Of course, one immediately wonders what god needs with a slave class, before he remembers that god is a needy little bitch.

And being a slave to sin is just being a slave to god in a roundabout fashion, since god created sin, too. Whee.

Not that I believe a word of this particular kind of mental debasement is worth anything more than simmering disgust, but, hey.

Lets see a list of things bad that god hasn't removed:
Illness
HIV/AIDS
Nazis
KKK
Taliban
Al-Qeada
Sex offenders (esp the religious ones)
Crime
War
Death
Murder
Heart attacks
Cancer
Slavery (like you said)
Attention-whore religious extremists
MANY other things

I disagree, but if so, it's particularly stupid to be a slave of sin then.

How about a list of good things god has given us? (Hypothetically from your POV of course.)

Well, there's:

Critical thinking
Natural Empathy
Medicine developed from the study of evolution
Moderate personalities that don't try to jam ideologies down people's throats (one way or the other)
Mercy
Love
Humility
Generosity
Humour
Justice
Fairness

There's a few things that, if he exists, he hopefully gave us. Or allowed us to discover, or placed here for us to discover, or surrepticiously implanted in our brains, or revealed to one or two individuals.
I don't know, there seems to be a lot of debate as to how exactly he supposedly gave us this stuff.
If you believe it, question it. If you question it, get an answer. If you have an answer, does that answer satisfy reality? Does it satisfy you? Probably not. For no one else will agree with you, not really.

I would have started with life itself, then probably other people, and this beautiful world to live in.

Is god alive?

Why would anyone want to be a slave? I most certainly dont.
Which is why you have been given this life. To choose whether or not you wish to Serve God or Serve sin.

Quote:How sick, you see yourself as a slave?
Take every instance where the english bible uses the word servant to describe a follower of God, and you have an Idea of what is expected.

Quote:Is that the best in life you want to be. Shit I am a dishwasher and I find that far more honorable and useful than being under the thumb of a slave master.
I am a Slave, who's master has put in charge of a great number of things. Men/employees, Money, Family, "things/cars, boat, mortor cycle, etc, etc.." I am Good where I am. I know I do not own anything and know that any moment any or all of it can be taken and reallocated, but as a slave I can be plugged into any situation (and have several times) and thrive.

Quote:Sick, just plain fucking sick. You like being a slave.
...Respectfully, and you as a dishwasher are not? Did you grow up wanting to be a dishwasher? is this what you dreamed to be? I am not saying you will be here for ever, nor am I saying there is anything wrong with your job, I am just asking is this what you have aspired to all of your life? I am what I wanted to be. I need Nothing and want for very little.

The only difference between you and I, is I have thrown off the shackles of sin, and taken on the yoke God has asked that we carry:Mt 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Quote: Thanks for the honesty for once, because that is what all believers have turned their brains into, slaves to a work of fiction. Thank you for confirming to us why we don't buy your superstition.
Don't fool yourself We Are ALL Slaves to something. The only question is your master's burden something that benfits you? Is it something you can carry all of your life and on into eternity?

Eitherway, it is like I said. This is the reason we have been given this life. To choose whether or not we will serve God for all of eternity.

What basis do you see that God must deal with these things on your timing as you see fit? Alvin Plantiga proved that the problem of evil is not really a problem for Christian theology, and professional philosophers have basically left it alone since, but people on the internet who have probably never read the original reply will argue the point anyways.

I reject the notion that I'm a slave to anyone. I'm a human, and I have my limits, as every human does, but those are my limits, not god's or sin's. Why does there have to be a god or sin or anything that I have to be a slave to? If you just remove those perimeters, wouldn't we all just be better off?
We are tied to sin, that what makes us a slave to it. It's not something we elect, it is a bondage we are born into. If you do not think this to be the case the simply sin no more.

I've noticed a pattern in your list. They seem to be things out of your control. Is that what makes them 'bad?'
