True. it doesn't matter if "Son of God" was never changed. It's still a crock.

How do you prove your religion/holy books were not corrupted.

The Kalamas of Kesaputta ask for guidance from the Buddha The Kalamas who were inhabitants of Kesaputta sitting on one side said to the Blessed One: "There are some monks and brahmins, venerable sir, who visit Kesaputta. They expound and explain only their own doctrines; the doctrines of others they despise, revile, and pull to pieces. Some other monks and brahmins too, venerable sir, come to Kesaputta. They also expound and explain only their own doctrines; the doctrines of others they despise, revile, and pull to pieces. Venerable sir, there is doubt, there is uncertainty in us concerning them. Which of these reverend monks and brahmins spoke the truth and which falsehood?" — Ain't it funny how it's always "those other guys" who are doing the twisting. If you are truly this naive, Chad, then God help you. ![]() RE: How do you prove your religion/holy books were not corrupted.

If you are truly this naive, Chad, then God help you. There's nothing wrong vigorous debate which requires you to challenge your own position (missionary or otherwise) while weighting the merits of the other guys case. I was referring to receptivity. There is much wisdom to be found, not only in one's one faith tradition, but those of others as well and observations of people and nature. Thoughtful people are open to consider various sources of information about spiritual matters. But people who love only themselves are not only unable to receive unexpected wisdom, they are actively hostile God and twist everything holy to conform to their own opinions. As an example of such twisting, every now and then, some anti-theist will mock passages of the scriptures, usually Gen 1:1, by rewriting them to suit their own warped understanding of scripture. They have no desire to understand anything and only make fools of themselves. |
