I lost my belief in god because the Bible had glaring problems. Contradictions, significant inconsistencies, and numerous areas where I simply couldn't stretch logic far enough to cover them. I tried my best to talk myself into believing, but I finally had to face it; the Bible is a real mess. Only after I'd realized that I did not believe in god, did I start to look for more information.
Theist theories and explanations and rationalizations don't sway me because I spent a very large part of my life (including my formative years) clinging to them and deliberately avoiding any contrary information. Being biased in favor of religion and god wasn't enough to keep me from finding it wanting. The alternatives have held up very well, so far. I'm still reading and learning, but I no longer feel like I'm trying to twist and stretch logic in order to understand. As Dawkins says, "science works." God doesn't.

The central reason- I guess. All the threads I've seen are about specific things which I'd find surprising if they are the central reason they don't believe.
But if the central reason is 'there's no evidence'- Okay- I've learned my lesson. Like I said in my OP, i'm not rejecting that reason, I'm just assuming it as the most common one. EDIT- but, it doesn't appear to be the case given some of the posts that others have made.

Ok, I guess my main reason for why I reject religion is that religions are inmoral and undemocratic.

The correct one is B, you asked us to be brief. When I say I'm an atheist, all that it means is that I don't believe in god(s), nothing else can be inferred by that. It isn't hard to understand...

When I was 10... some 20 years ago, I remember thinking, about some news story in some remote village in China or something like that, "boy, these reporters have cameras everywhere!!... you know what else people claim is everywhere? god!.... how come no one has filmed the guy??"
And that was the start of doubt.
Then I learned about evolution.... goodbye Adam&Eve.
And if that is wrong... what else is wrong?....
Holy crap, the flood is also on other far older Mesopotamic mythology? One more point to the christian crap-o-meter.
Around this time, I was 12.
So, why should I believe people who tell me these things as truth.... but they're not.... what credibility do these people have?
NOTE: I'm talking about believing in people, not in the story.... first, you have to believe the people, only then you accept the story.
