Do I sin because of Adam?

No, it wouldn't. Evolutionary theory doesn't run on whatever seems pleasant to a given individual. Wouldn't give two shits about whether or not death was a natural desire (and wouldn't stop operating if it were).

This brings up a few more questions: What would the world be like if Adam hadn't eaten the apple? Would there be evil in the world? If there was no evil, would lucifer still be god right-hand man? Would Jesus still have been born? Would bacon still be as tasty?

These are the questions that keep me up at night.

Ok, not really but it is an interesting thought.

From my research Adam stands for living being in it's native tongue where the bible was written.

I could be wrong ? but I do not think so.

Do you mean that "Adam" could have originally meant human?

I researched it like 5 years ago and if memory serves correct, living being. Could be wrong because I am going by my memory.

Wow, can't believe I missed this one, way back. You are miles off the rez now Cat. By "basic" I assume that you mean "sans dragons" - but unfortunately even this is a step too far. No, there is no "basic history" in the OT. Not a shred. It is a mythical and legendary foundations narrative. Whether or not those who contributed to it's genesis thought it was a history or realized that it was not is beyond my ability to know (I honestly suspect a bit of both). So while I can't tell you with any certainty whether something was meant to be taken as a metaphor or as a factual retelling, I can very easily tell you what was not - in the world beyond the narrative or it;s authors intentions- a factual retelling of any event in history. The OT, for example, not a factual retelling of any history, not even "basically".

-Radio Jerevan receives a question from a listener. "Is it true that cars are being given away in Red Square in Moscow."-
-That is correct, except for a few small errors. First, it isn't Moscow, but Leningrad. Second, it isn't Red Square, but the banks of the river Neva. Third, it isn't cars but bicycles. Fourth, they're not given away, but stolen.-

Holy fucking shit dude.
You fucking manage to twist my words around by confusing "of" with "in".

So which is it? Intentional or mistake?

Tell me how to distinguish between the two?

The basic history of the OT
The basic history in the OT

Are we talking about history, or just how and when the books were cobbled together? If it's the second, the comment would appear to have had nothing to do with the post you responded to. So, mea culpa - but only because I'm feeling generous this am.

I think you're smart enough to comprehend what I wrote.

I think the status of either (and whichever way you intended it to mean) would rely less on my intelligence and more on another's ignorance. There is no agreement on either proposition.

I guess I could be wrong too... Undecided

So, you'll deny that Moses wasn't an author, the OT scrolls were cobbled together from oral stories, they also had an oral tradition that went with the scrolls, and that there were numerous sources?
