Are you for or against the separation of church and state?
RE: Are you for or against the separation of church and state?
What was the 'point' in whatever god it is you worship creating humanity...or anything at all?

That's your definition of sin, not a universal one. Some disagree with you.

Beyond that, if you've got a god responsible for the creation of everything that exists, then by necessity he created sin even if it is a conceptual thing. If he created the capacity for sin to occur then he's responsible for it when it does; if I leave my child alone with a knife I'll be held responsible if he harms himself, no?

If sin is so antithetical to god, it's weird to me that he'd allow it to exist in the first place, but that's beside the point; the choice is still binary. Either sin exists via a conscious choice or set of choices that god made, making it his deal, or it came about without the input of god at all, in which case it's something from nothing.

Ahhh, I see you're an atheist. What a senseless waste of human life Sleepy

And I disagree as to what sin/evil refers to, and no: they are not the same thing. It might be a sin to wear those shoes with that shirt... but it certainly isn't evil. Harboring a banana in your house is evil, but it certainly isn't a sin.

I mean... you're welcome to argue down your version of sin and evil as much as you want, and as defined, I might even be with you (i'm not, but it's not relevant). I don't intend to be party to such nonsense, myself Angel

Wait, what? Are you suggesting that I'm harboring a bunch (yuk yuk) of fugitives in my fruit bowl?!?!?

We went from talking about God's creating evil to Him being responsible for it. It seems we're in agreement, then, that God need not contain evil for evil to exist, and that sin need not come from outside the universe. It remains a possibility that God is perfectly good. Of course you can still blame Him for evil, but only to the degree that you blame a teacher for letting her students get Fs when they don't study--it's still humanity's fault.
