Giving the cheater a pass is okay if it's a man. In John 8:3-11 the pharisees bring an adulterous woman to Jesus, seeking judgment in order to condemn him. Jesus trumps them with the famous "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" line. At no part in the situation does anyone consider it out of place that they only brought the adulterous woman, and not the man she cheated with. Since she was "caught in the act," they knew who the man was. But only the woman was to be made an example of. I don't think anyone's shocked that Pat Robertson is stuck in the ancient past.
Pat Robertson Wrote:‘Does he provide a home for you to live in,’ he said. 'Does he provide food for you to eat? Does he provide clothes for you to wear? Is he nice to the children... Is he handsome?’
Robertson continued, " what's that? None of those? Well, you're still just a women, so suck it up and get back in the kitchen, like the good lord intended."
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

IMO the woman should have spoken up and then both points of view would have been represented and then things could have been reasoned from there. The lady did have a chance to stand up for this woman's situation. My question here is why did she not respond.
What chance? The Pat has spoken! If she dared to disagree with that putrid old fart she wouldn't be around the show long. Besides which, she's a woman. Robertson hasn't any use for her opinion, she's supposed to shut up. Didn't you notice how when he started speaking she just shut up and turned her head and looked down?
Do you have a happy family?! What kind of question is that? This dude can't keep his dick in his pants and you have a happy family? I don't fucking think so. I'm a married guy. This guy has no excuse. It's pretty simple, part of my job when our kids were still kids was to show our children what a father and husband should be like. And not just to our son, but to our three daughters also. Kids learn by example, right? So that is what I did. Not perfectly, of course. But I did the best I could. If you want to be in a marriage relationship then fidelity is a big damn deal. Act accordingly.
'Touch his face', he tells her? How about 'Knee the bastard in the coglione'? That should send a good message. Then find a good lawyer. But seriously, trust once broken is going to be extremely hard to reestablish. What I'd be interested in is how does hubby feel about what he did. If he isn't sorry then she might as well give up. If he really regrets the infidelity then there's hope.
But, of course, this little video example is all too typical of what you would expect of the fundie community. It's always her fault, she should be quiet and do as she is told, and give hubby a pass on everything. Amen.

A fucking men!
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

You're right. It is sobering to find "Christian" men who ignore these verses:
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." Ephesians 5:25
"In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies." Ephesians 5:28

Those verses just mention love. Isn't it entirely possible to love someone while simultaneously believing their whole point of existence is to either lie on their back and become a receptacle for my seed or get to the kitchen and make me a sandwich?

Well, if it was just your average, run-of-the-mill christian, there wouldn't be any real problem. However, this douchewaffle broadcasts to millions of people everyday. He has a great deal of influence over a vast number people. He is spreading his mysoginistic opinions far and wide and they have an effect.
So, no, it is not horrible and vile to stereotype a group of people who, by and large, agree with every word that comes out of his horrible and vile mouth.

I like the use of the word "douchewaffle." Adding this to my working vocab.
