Quote:Are you actually trying to school me on my faith????
Your faith, is also the faith of some of my close friends, and my friends experience it differently from you. However I do see allot of similarities in their stories. They believe their superiors of the church they attend. A friend of mine told me that one of the leading ladies of the church witnessed a miracle; She was getting robbed, and the robber shot her but the bullet did not penetrate her, it bounced off of her. My friend told me this with such belief, I was stunned!!
You get schooled all the time, by the people leading your faith, and by the people who think it's nonsense. By this response you gave me I presume that you know allot about your faith, and in a face to face discussion with me you probably could correct me on more than a few things. However, were you to discuss or debate with Christopher Hitchens (Science Rest His Soul) or a Richard Dawkins, you'd be schooled 6 ways through Sunday School.
Quote:Common in ISLAM. In, ISLAM. Yes, correct, I agree.
Sarcasm; Islam is a Religion. In this topic I am addressing all religions where they think under age sex was normal.
Quote:It was usual for girls 14-15 to be betrothed to men 16-17 in Jewish society.
My issue lies with men (who think it's alright by their faith) whom are in their 30's and 40's bed girls between 12-15.
Quote:You know, in Africa they have such a problem with promiscuity that in some places...
There are approximately 55 countries in Africa, and you say 'some places'. Which ones exactly ? Sure, in Kenya the risk could be above 30% and the issue lies mostly in the slums (Kibera/Korogocho). HIV/AIDS developed from Chimpanzees [SIV] and was a blood to blood transfer when hunters were cutting the animals for food. Which originated in Cameroon, some common stories refer to Uganda with the assumption and or accusation that the locals were having sex with the animals who were already diseased. This, had absolutely NOTHING to do with religion.
However, that's one story. Another is that it originated in the gay scene of Los Angeles when they realized that unprotected sex can lead to certain death. God creates homo-sexuals, God makes some religions (I think almost all) abolish homo sexuality, God gives homo-sexuals AIDS so he can judge them later for being a bad person...But created them in the FIRST PLACE ??!! LOGIC !!!!!
Oh, but for a Catholic priest/Protestant ministers to have sex with a little boy is oke because it's not in the scriptures...FUUUUUUUCK OFF !! hahahahaha
Now you might come up with this one, and what a funny coincidence it is that it's my first name.
Mark 9:42
42*And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
However, who's to say...That some sick fuck won't think; ''That little boy doesn't believe in the Almighty Jesus, so I guess it's oke to defile him just this once.''
In today's western society where the law of reason and logic overcomes religious scriptures, and thank ??? that Churches don't have any authority (By the name of, whoever, and the Church of, where-ever, I condemn you to...) anymore.
I stand by my point and I am disappointed in the various beliefs that, under-age sex was oke in the name of a, how C.Hitchens would put it so well; Sadistic Dictator in the sky...
Furthermore I don't mean anything I say as an offence to you, I just see this as a healthy discussion and only do it purely for research and fun of debating. If you take it as an offence or are in any way offended? Don't worry, I'm always working on improving my delivery.

What are you doing for those children in Africa, you should not place blame until you have responded to a situation.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I did not say he was, but why not volunteer to help, the Baptist Church puts millions into Africa and many missionaries.

As to the cash injected into africa by your church - the secular world shits on that contribution with plenty left over to spare (to shit on the contributions of all the other churches that might lay an even greater claim than your own).

That's why we left the Roman Catholic Church 500 years ago. In fact, it is paramount - it isn't even negotiable - it's a Christian's right to disagree over matters of faith with clergy, or other church officials.

That's hearsay, I understand why you would be unimpressed.

Pffft, more like I would school Dawkins on his worldview and the perverse nature with which he sees science. But that's an aside.
Quote:Sarcasm; Islam is a Religion. In this topic I am addressing all religions where they think under age sex was normal.
You haven't even defined "under age sex". And frankly I don't know why you insist on using that phrase.
Quote:My issue lies with men (who think it's alright by their faith) whom are in their 30's and 40's bed girls between 12-15.
Well the practises by the Jews here were really no different from those around them in the sense of the age of marriage anyway, so as for it being a "matter of faith" you can forget that. As I've pointed out to you, in secular society it was quite common up until about 150ish years ago for girls under 15 to be married to older men. It's now not even legal - at least in Australia - the minimum age for Marriage is 18, and while minors can apply to the court to get married (with parental consent, of course) it won't be granted for anyone under 17, so we've now come right away from the younger age for marriage.
But - as I keep pointing out to you - this is because women now have more options in life, and especially because of education!!

Incorrect. If you're going to teach me history at least get your history right. The fact that HIV originated from SIV is well documented/evidenced. Exactly how it developed to HIV is still hotly debated.
Quote:However, that's one story. Another is that it originated in the gay scene of Los Angeles when they realized that unprotected sex can lead to certain death. Are you attempting to make a straw man argument here?
Promiscuity is what transmitted HIV to the epidemic levels that it is. The fact that in Western countries like Australia it is transmitted among minority groups (mostly gay's) is irrelevant.

Firstly, we have priests too - duh - and secondly, of course it's not OK - duh.

Can you really be that dense, God works through His church, what the church does in helping in Africa is a direct action of God through His church. We do not use your tax dollars to help those across the world, other charities receive money from the government.

edit: No, of course that's not what He does, that's the weakness of man. Well, I just think that's also true for the good things the church does, these good things don't require Him in the least!
