But anyway, I'll give you an example, when I was younger everyone in my class had to do a class presentation on something, but I delayed preparing mine out of procrastination until the actual night before when I realized I'm not even ready to do it and I fucked up bad. So I spent half the night praying that the teacher wouldn't even be there and that I won't have to do it, bearing in mind he was there for every day of the last few weeks, so more than half the class have already done their presentation. When the next morning came, he sat us all down and told us that he is going to a conference that morning, so the lesson will be taken over by a sub, and presentations are cancelled for the day. Now, people can insinuate all they want but for me, that's a blatant answer to my prayer. And this wasn't the only time this kind of thing happened either. So, I feel my experiences clearly shows- at least to me- that belief and sincerity in a divine response does produce fruition.

Umm... You do realize professionals don't just wake up one day and decide to skip work for a conference, right? You gotta pre-register, request the leave, etc. So this reduces your, "I prayed all night" thing to a god already knew teacher was going to be out thing, not a god answering your prayer thing.

Truth here. I've always thought about this, but never put it to words. People pray, things were already happening, yet they focus only on the end paying no attention to the process.
This is how it works:
Teacher registered for a conference (or someone registered him without telling him)
Time goes by (meanwhile, presentation is bound not to happen)
Time goes by
Time goes by
You pray
Presentation doesn't happen due to conference
You thank god.
pff. Blah. Meh!

I see the point you're trying to make, but it only works if you think God is who you think he is i.e he couldn't have possible answered the prayer because the conference was pre-booked without my knowledge. It doesn't work like that in my theological outlook. Additionally, there was always a chance the teacher would be there, but he wasn't. You can look at all the situations from any angle you want, but the bottom line is that I got what I prayed for, and that is who God says he is, and I will continue to invoke Him.

I doubt he's the "conference" type.

I don't believe in God, in fact, I lobby against it. Do you attribute my life's accomplishments to God too? Or do I get to keep the credit for reaping the benefits of all the hard work and determination I put into achieving my goals? In your opinion, who should get credit for the good things in my life since I reject your Gods?..or does it even matter?

religion isn't dumb. I mean humans have emotional connections to things. So having them with the surroundings is not dumb. In fact, it is stupid to suggest that people shouldn't have them.
What is dumb is people telling you that you have to believe what they believe or you go to hell. If you find it dumb that a turtle carried the earth into the universe then you should understand why some might find it dumb that a body rose from the dead.
I find it dumb that people would actually try and teach others that you must know the bible to be saved. When what they mean is that if you treat people like "Jesus" did. Or look at material wealth as Jesus did. You will live a more fulfilling life. That aint dumb.
Stating that "Jesus' way of looking at life as "bad" and "delusional". That is dumb too.

Agreed! I'm glad nobody said anything to contradict the latter part of your post, otherwise I might feel bad. I'm not really sure that anything you said defended a religion though. It was a nice sentiment of a harmless interpretation of Christianity that is more common to Budism and not at all practiced by enough people to be called a religion, but nothing more than that. Your heart seems to be in the right place though.
