Also, when Terr speaks of the theist in question as "Never [having] lost... [belief in God] in the first place." it's a:
"I know what you are thinking about,' said Tweedledum: 'but it isn't so, nohow.'
'Contrariwise,' continued Tweedledee, 'if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic." ~Tweedledum and Tweedledee discussing the finer points of logic

It's not a no true Scotsman fallacy, because if someone is talking to God, then they obviously believe that this god exists and therefore cannot be an atheist. It's not a no true Scotsman fallacy if the characteristic being described is against the definition of what you're talking about. If I say "There are no birds without feathers. The bat doesn't have feathers, therefore it is not a bird" it is not a no true Scotsman fallacy, it's based on scientific fact.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Maybe those folks got confused between some sort of antitheism and atheism and though being against God was the same (somehow) as having a lack of belief in God.
So at the end it could be just a confusion of labels.

I don't have to add anything to the statement to reach this conclusion. I don't need any special rules-or exceptions, and I don't have to redefine anything that they've said.
I do however think its a dead giveaway - though perhaps we'd disagree on what's been given away.

I get that you think my approach is eisegetical,(I don't think it is) but yours seems to me to be unreasonably skeptical.

If this is an appeal to some principle of parsimony, you should be more clear. It sounds like "I don't have to think that hard about it."
Again, Terr could clear this up if he would just give us the original quote in its context.

Of course it is Nora....we are talking -about- talking -to- a god..after all.

I considered myself a non-alcoholic, but I couldn't stop drinking.
